Rich R to Michigan

I predict that Rich Rod will find it a lot harder to recruit and get the players to make his system work in Michigan.

I live in WV and I can say, he hasn't had any academic standards placed on him there and that will not be the case at Michigan. Plus, Michigan won't put up with guys who have bad rep's like PacMan Jones and Chris Henry. At WVU it's all about winning games...not the future of his players.

What is it about Michigan taking WVU coaches?

This is true, but on the flip side Michigan is a stronger national draw then WVU. If you look at Lloyd, he was a horrible game day coach and yet was constantly highly ranked. That's because with the Michigan name he drew better players. Unfortunately then he yoked them so much on the field we had to be twice as talented to win any games. Which is why we won 9-10 games every year. We were twice as talented as everyone but OSU and one or two teams and whoever we played in the bowl game.

As a born and raised Michigander and UM fan and also a UM alum, I actually do feel bad about that. It's a dog eat dog business but doing this twice in just a few years to the same school feels oggie to me, even though I think he's a great choice to be the new head coach.

Theres now reports of Rodriquez's non-immediate friends and family being threatend with notes and broken windows and death threats. Wa wa get over it you bunch of back woods creeps. Burn some couches or something. Bunch of babies- lets see Michigan ( national football powerhouse) or West Virginia ( national football choker). Hmm tough decision.

Rich Rod will have no problems getting players. If anything it was harder to get players at WVU. Initially everyone he recruited was the leftovers that couldn't go to the real Big East powerhouses, VT and Miami. Things changed once his success started (after Tech and Miami left). These young kids see a bunch of offensive numbers and want to be a part of it. Michigan can recruit the entire country. I believe it would be easier to talk a kid into going to Ann Arbor than Morgantown. Have you ever been to Morgantown?

I've been to Morgantown and it ain't pretty However, if you're a stud athlete but not a scholar and have to choosee between WVU and Michigan -- pick WVU. I can absolutely guarantee you, the classes at UM will be a lot tougher that what you'll have at WVU. NOT even close. Plus, it's really freaking cold in Ann Arbor!

I dont think that much about this Rich Rodriguez guy. Sure he runs a decent system, high scoring offense.

Character is everything. This is a guy who dogged his own alma mater!

He dogged the school he attended and educated him! What does that say about a guy?

I think Michigan deserves to have a good coach, but Rodriguez is not that.

Rich Rodriguez is just a notch above Petrino and Nick Saban. I still think Michigan will stay with the 9-10 wins range and make one of the consolation Bowls.

I like Rodriguez and I think he's a great choice. I don't see how WVU "owned" him and I think the reaction to his leaving was absurd. He gave that school and program so much and this is a great career move for him. But, we have to see how he does.
