I know most outside of Delaware may not care but this is big for our state. They have never played before. Outside the Lines did interviews with both schools a few weeks back and painted it as a racial issue as to why they haven't played. ESPN will carry the game (on their main station) Friday. I can't attend, will be in Tampa at my brothers(Yes I'm going to the Skins game!) cheering the Hornets on!!!
I know alot and mentor a few of the DSU players, Congrats to them on a great season and best of luck Friday.

That's great that they're playing. It's good for both schools, and it's good for the state.
And it's going to be a great match-up.

I read a piece about the two schools earlier this season, I'm glad to see they've decided to play.

What's the racial issue? Is one school mostly white and the other black, or are there historical racial ties with the schools, or what?

Don't have much respect for the situation because it's not like Delaware is stepping up to play the Hornets.
Frankly, only racism could be found at the root of something so stupid.

It seems like the article is bending over backwards to make it a racial issue. I'm not doubting that in history it was, but the last actual example of race issue the article mentions is Jim Crowe laws in the 60s. I have a hard time thinking over say the last 20 years that's why they didn't play.

Yeh, but you're talking about the kinds of issues that stick with people for a lifetime, like an incurable virus, man. Racism is like blood. It's gonna take more than time and rain to wash it away once it dries and settles in.
Normally, I'd never watch a game like this one, but having knowledge of the reasons behind this being their first ever meeting, I'm there.
