Washington Redskins receiver Brandon Lloyd broke his collarbone Wednesday and will be sidelined at least six weeks, the latest setback in his disappointing tenure in the nation's capital.

Unreal. Sure sounds like a guy who wasn't giving it 100%.

I was soooooo hoping this was going to be his week to show us what he can do.

If he's not giving a 100%.........

hmn, how many snaps has he played in or games started in.

How many catches, has he caught

how many passes were thrown his way

how many times was he open

how many TD's has he caught

Apply those categories to Thrash, and McCardell

If those two guys can have catches and mind you, touchdowns, can you say that those two guys are having a better year than him, with the same or less opportunities?

Those guys weren't hit by Brian Dawkins while the ball was in the air.
If anyone watched the play, or the replay, Dawkins hit Lloyd without ever looking back for the ball, which is what caused the collarbone problem.

Ah, I misread my quoted post then.

I thought a 100% on his effort in general. It's just that I have read so many arguments about BL that he's lazy, or he's gotten few opportunities, etc. I think he's just not that good, if he was good he would've blown up a while ago. And Dawkins will hurt you and hurt you bad. Remember Sellers emabarrased him on MNF a while back.

Huh? What? He broke his collarbone in practice! I didn't know Dawkins practices with the Skins!

I didn't post this for yet another "Llyod sucks!" " Ah uh, no he don't. H just hasn't had a chance" thread.
I just posted it to let everyone know he is mostlike done for the years and possibly forever with the Skins.

WOW! What else can go wrong??? And to think you guys keep blaming Gibbs. But I am sure you all will still blame Gibbs for practicing Lloyd to hard or something.

That is a big, big loss! We are very depleted at WR. Hopefully we can get Moss back some kind of way...

I had heard Lloyd separated his shoulder on the last play of the game. Maybe he was practicing with a separated shoulder and broke it?
Got me by the short hairs. All I know is the Skins have two healthy wide receivers, which is at least two less than they need.

Its crazy! I nearly choked reading this bit on JLC's blog today:

"Looks like Randle El and McCardell could be starting, with Caldwell as the No. 3. Burt Toler is on the practice squad, and he might end up activated."

Good grief!

Wouldn't it be crazy though if we found out this was some crazy effective mix? Randle El/McCardell/Caldwell...

I know, it's crazy right now!!! I think that Lloyd is a gifted WR and he always seems to be a step ahead of his DB.

That blow up was by Todd Yoder!

That has to suck, cuz nobody in the league lays out for catches like Lloyd does. Skins invested quite a bit in that dude and they're not getting any returns whatsoever. And it doesn't look good for Moss either, cuz the more he pounds that heel, the worse it's gonna get. I'd put Lloyd on the shelf for the year and Moss on the shelf for at least a couple of weeks. Not sure how many double TE sets the Skins run, but it'd behoove them to put Yoder on the field and go to it. McCarDell, Randle El, and Caldwell have plenty of combined starter experience, so why not just let Moss heal up?

I'm glad they signed Farris he is a hard working guy who did okay on special teams in the past.

I had this same thought. Moss is doing squat playing hurt, so why not sit him until he's close to 100%?

And, I have to add, Brandon Lloyd's collarbone is all Brunell's fault. I don't know how, but it must be.

No it is Joe Gibbs' fault for being so conservative

Coach Joe Gibbs said Lloyd was hurt on the last play of practice when he caught a ball in the end zone.

Of course, since Joe "says" it it must be the truth, right?

I'm not convinced Joe didn't break Lloyd's collarbone himself to keep him from ever playing in a Redskins uniform again.

There was no other player involved.

Again, this may be true. Joe is a head coach and not a "player".

I hope Brandon clears all of this up on the radio. :)

I agree, but he lays outs when he should just take another step and make the catch. He could have had 2 TDs in games earlier in the year and a he could have made another big play in the Eagles game had he just taken one more step. He lays out too soon!

I was hoping the coaching staff could coach that out of him. He has talent, but has no idea how to use it.

It is a shame, I was hoping he would get it and start putting his talents to use.

Bad news for Lloyd and the team, but I can't say that this news surprised me. That's just the kind of year that it's been.

Even when Lloyd was starting the entire season last year he still did not do anything. In my opinion the Skins need to draft a WR.

I would say make a play for Chad Johnson but that is unlikely to happen; especially, considering how many players are good before they come here, then immediately start to suck(pardon my french).

As has already been beaten to death in another thread, Chad Johnson is not available until 2010. It would cost the Bengals $9 Million to release him. Only Dan Snyder pisses away that kind of money.
