Is there an Office spin-off in the works?

I read in this article that NBC is pushing for a spin-off to the groundbreaking and brilliant show The Office:

I am not sure how I feel about this. Mainly because I am worried that the writing on the original show might falter;due to being stretch to thin. Plus I feel that another show like it might take away from it's uniquness.

However, if the writer's strike happens it will be a moot point.

Terrible idea.

The office started off poorly, the 1st season was tough to watch before they got the chemistry correct in the 2nd. I think it has about ran its course with the last season, a spin off would be a disaster.

Despite it improving from the 1st series and turning into one of the best comedies on the box its still miles behind the groundbreak Office, that being the original Ricky Gervais British version. Correl has grown into the part but he will never be as cringewrothy as Gervais.

Pam is way hotter in the US version though, that whole girl next door thing
