So... how many times did you pick the Pats this week?

Nobody better get mad at me. Remember what happened last time I picked against the Skins? ;-)

Not mad, but that still won't stop me from calling you an hognostitraitor! :twisted:

Call me whatever you want. RIC himself has said the Skins are not a Super Bowl contender but still picks them every week for some reason.

Sorry that I dont think we're the 72 Dolphins.

Let us clear the air:

1) True: The Washington Redskins are not a Super Bowl contender in the 2007 season.

2) True: I do pick them -every- week.

Besides, if there was -EVER- a game that the Redskins should lose based on -EVERY- possible statistic, whether it is defense, offense, special teams, individual player stats and injury status, THIS would be it!

But I am Hognosticating a win. Obviously some people wonder WHY and others just find it incomprehensible. Well, let me explain my reasoning:

a) The Washington Redskins play Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Chances are that Dr. Jekyll will show up this Sunday and Mr. Hyde will return later in the season.

b) Football is a TEAM sport and all you need is for the score to start 0 - 0 with the same number of players on the field. Adversity and even criticism and ridicule often brings out the best performances from many teams.

c) I am sure that Joe Gibbs, Al Saunders, G Williams and the rest of the coaching staff will get our team ready to play on Sunday.

d) The Redskins play to the level of their opponent. The national media will be covering this game more than any other. Skins know that.

e) If I was not Hognosticating a victory, I would not be expecting (not hoping, really expecting) their best performance to win the game. I do want THEM to know that whether some of them come to THN (and they do) or not!

f) If we win, I will go on throughout the week enjoying the fact that we won -with- my team. I would hate to face anybody, let alone any coach or player, and have to explain that I never expected that my team had a chance. Solidarity is important and it has an important value in sports and in life.

And if I am wrong in my calculations. And if the Skins lose. And if I get one extra negative point in the Hognostications competition. Does that matter AT ALL?

The only reason you and I, and the admin, staff and all the other posters are HERE is because we share ONE common bond: The Washington Redskins. In some cases, it may be the -ONLY- thing that many people may have in common here.

So, what can be more important here than supporting the whole TEAM by EXPECTING (not only hoping) that they will win, that we, perhaps the only ones in the entire NFL, EXPECT them to win???

Oh what a chance Jake, what a chance ... These are the kinds of moments which define a true fan in Hog Heaven. Think about it and act with CONVICTION whatever you and all others decide.

Do you want to know the truth? I would LOVE to be the one ONLY Hognosticator predicting a win for us this weekend. I will not be the only one of course. There are many good comrades in arms here that share the logic and principles described above. Hail to them and hail to the Redskins !!!

Yeah but Jake has to protect his position in 34th spot in the contest... he's just 'trying' to win.

:whistle:

That is gold.

If you think the Redskins are going to win every single week, of what value is your opinion? It's like when a mother loves every single piece of artwork their child produces.

You and all the other "comrades" must be making a mint in Vegas this weekend, right?

No, we may not win every game but we do EXPECT them to make their best effort to do so. Just like a mother does not expect a child to produce a work of art in each school assignment but she EXPECTS that every effort will be made by her child.

Comrades, mothers and fans are words with meanings to some of us. My 2 cents

Time to start separating the true FANS from the despicable yellow coward TRAITORS.

First a Hail to the Redskins Salute to my brothers:

Cappster, Countertrey, everydayAskinsday, funbunch, hailskins666, HEROHAMO, murray, Skinsrule84, skinz74, Steve Spurrier II, tribeofjudah, and wbbradb.

You all make me proud. Hail to you and Hail to the Redskins!

The inductees into the HALL OF SHAME, some for a treacherous repeat performance, are:

Cleg, Jake, Justice Hog, and Kearney420 (so far)

Read their names clearly. These are the TRAITORS this week. Their names are here for all to see and remember the next time they show you the many "reasons" why they love and support their Team.

I have one Hognostication for you TRAITORS: A TRAITOR has never won the Hognostications Tournament and never will.

Enjoy. :twisted:

My selections are as follows:

Game01=Cleveland
Game02=Chicago
Game03=Indianapolis
Game04=NY Giants
Game05=Tennessee
Game06=Minnesota
Game07=Cincinnati
Game08=NY Jets
Game09=San Diego
Game10=Tampa Bay
Game11=San Francisco
Game12=Washington
Game13=Denver

I am sure there will be a lot of surprised football fans this Sunday at about 7:15 pm, after the game in Foxboro, MA - AND some embarrassed fans here at THN who doubted the abilities of our Washington Redskins

While it is true that I am picking the Redskins every week (in this incredibly profitable Hognostications pool, where victory at the end will guarantee my ability to retire on the bragging rights), I do believe that the Redskins will win this week as my major upset pick.

I also think we will win outright. My minor upset of the week is Miami over the G-strings. I just wasn't ready to put my hognostication where my mouth is, and I picked the G-strings. :oops:

A few injuries, some better advertised than others, helped made up my mind on several games.

As far as the Skins is concerned, I watched the interview of Tom Brady today and I am feeling pretty darn good about this being a hard fought battle on Sunday.
