The Test.....

Please chime in folks......
This week's game against NE will be a true test for JC that will show us if he is indeed, "Ready".... We know what the Pats are but how JC handles himself in this game and going forward will tell at least me, if we have a bonafide QB that can lead this team in the future.
Your thoughts....

I disagree 200%. Jason has already proved that he is a legit QB and going up against the Pats won't sway me either way. He is growing and has already grown quite a bit. Under the current circumstances we can only expect so much.
I actually believe that he is capable of more if the coaches would take the handcuffs off. I agree with Gibbs notion to bring the kid along slowly under normal circumstances but I think we're at a point where we need to start inching him towards the flame. I only feel confident in that because he's shown so much maturity.

What you said. Of all of the Redskins' problems on offense, J.C. is not one of them.

He's A good QB an franchise QB but how can he be tested if are OL is not healthy and no protection.I think what you mean is that its A test to see if he still does good with the injury in the O than yes its an test but if he wins us this game than dam.

Chris, you nailed it!!!
I know JC is still a young QB, but they need to let him play. I think he can bring a lot more to this team if they would open the offense up a little more for him.
That Pats are just incredible right now. I don't know how much anybody can learn about their team in playing them. I hope we win of course, but what I would really like to see is our defense keep Brady under control. We can make a statement just by keeping the Pats under 30!! hahah.

sorry mate - maybe you haven't been paying close attention. Campbell is a bonafide QB already and has done nothing but lead everyone to believe he will be a very good QB for this team for quite some time.
Our record right now is 4-2 but it could just as easily be 6-0 - we should lose this game but Campbell's performance will not be the deciding factor in my opinion - our team needs a lot of things for our future success but the least important need right now is an elite, very good starting QB because Campbell is showing that he is almost there.

JC has done just fine so far showing he can lead the Redskins, a win or loss against the Pats is not going to change our opinion on that.
JC still has a lot to learn though and thats great because he is looking good this early into his learning curve!

This is much more a test of our defense than our offense.
Can we hold the Patriots under 40?

I disagree. LMAO. A test of our defense? Can we hold the Pats to under 40 points?
The question should be can we hold them to 7 points because that's all our offense was able to do against Arizona without assistance from the defense.
This game is bigger than our defense. This is going to take a team effort. You can see the disappointment in the offensive players, CP said they aren't doing their part to help the team. The defense will show up...
If our offense plays like it did yesterday against NE and tires out our defense. The only way we'll be able to slow that offense down is by refusing to come on the field. LOL

I'm discounting our offense already, because we haven't shown much against either Green Bay or Arizona, and New England's defense is
much better than either of those two.
While our defense has been superb, we're going to have issues covering all of the wideouts for NE. We can't depend on Brady to make stupid errors, because he simply hasn't made any all year long. 27 TDs and 2 INTs?
That's criminal.
Plus, throw in that our corner situation currently is murky. Rogers and Smoot were banged up, Springs may be out b/c of his dad's health.
Seriously, if Kurt Warner could chop up the defense in the second half, you don't think Brady will be able to either?
Considering Brady's chopped up everyone else he's faced?
I was being half facetious, but if we hold NE under 30, I'll be seriously impressed with this defense.

Why did Kurt do it? Defense was tired.
Why was defense tired? Offense was not scoring points, going 3&out and giving points away.
If offense could somehow manage to keep drives a live and score points. We'll have a chance. Is that likely? I won't be holding my breath.
The defense will have trouble generating a pass rush.

See I guess my point is, I don't see this as a test for our offense, because I don't think they'll pass whatever test they're given. I'm already chocking them up for a 200 yard outing.
I'm seeing this as a test for the defense. If they can hold the Pats, with the expected zero contribution from our offense, under 30, then I'll be impressed.

I understand. You'll be impressed regardless of the W. I got you. If we hold them under 30 with our typical offense showing up, I too will be impressed.

I think all you folks make a good point. Our defense WILL hold them to less than 25 points. That's my mark and I'm sticking to it. Yes, they have nuclear weapons on that offense, yes, Brady is making his point as the best qb this year, but I think the one thing that scares me more than our horrible offense (I know we are banged up) is that they have a WAY BETTER coaching staff than we do.
Let's face it, we all love Gibbs, we like what Saunders shows us "at times" but we have made some horrible decisions this year. I'm not gonna reflect on the Giants/Packers loss, but we have Randle El, Moss, Lloyd, Cauldwell, and McCardell.. can someone say 4 or 5 WR set??? Every week I keep telling my cousins "watch Saunders put a 5 WR set and we kill someone". nope.. LOL.. I get very discouraged.
Our defense will be fine, JC has proven his worth, 1,000,000 x's more than his buddy from Auburn. *ugh*, Carlos Rogers matched up against Welker, or Stallworth won't be pretty. I didn't mention Moss because there's no way in bloody hell will he be matched up against him. I hope Springs is able to play cause if not, burn city. Our safeties will have to play desciplined ball and not get beat. Please Taylor, don't go for the double pump action.

I am going to go out on a limb here....we are going to win this game....we will knock Brady into a new super model planet....
I have faith in the fellas....I wish we would go yard a few more time with JC, it would open up the running game a bit more....
Go Skins....we have the defense for sure, positive faith in the Offense here...

Thanks for your thoughts. And I agree your assessment of JC. I just wanted to pose the question in that context to get a pulse of what my fellow fans think of JC.
Now, my honest opinion. JC is a stud and like alot of you have said, has proven himself. But we are the fans and unfortunately we don't have a say in what happens at the Park, in the film room, and on the sideline during the game. I personally would like to see him go down field more. He's more than capable. Yes, he does need work on some of his intermediate passes but what young QB doesn't?
The O-Line is a problem but not enough, IMO, to give JC just a little time to go down field. The way some of the posts about the O-Line have gone today, one would think that this is the Spurrier offense with Ramsey QB'ing. I don't want to get JC killed anymore than anybody else but we got to open things up a little bit using quick slants, three step drops, etc. so he can move this offense. There is a way around this O-Line thing and I think we should open things up to see what the kid can do. I think that he can lead this team to the playoffs and maybe beyond.
It's like they are handcuffing this kid.....

If I was an NFL head coach, and if I had a young QB in his first full season of starting, I can't think of any team that I'd want to avoid more than the New England Patriots.
I'm hoping that JC has a solid game this week, but I also hope that people don't get down on the guy if the Patriots' defence messes just completely befuddles him. It's happened to far more experienced players than JC. He's going to need help this week, and it's time for everybody around him to step up, from the undrafted rookies to the top dollar stars. And you can add the coaches to that list too.

I agree that Brady's numbers this year have been criminal, Im currently breaking down as much game film on the Pats as I can find , so far I've noticed this. He throws into more double coverage than any other QB I have ever seen, how is he getting away with this? He only has 2 INT's on the year, if he continues this against us , it will double this week (maybe more). JC will move a still conservative offense this week but it will be a little more open in the play calling, dont expect 300yds. Campbell is a good QB and can cover his own mistakes, elite QB's can make up for the mistakes of others, he isnt there yet. I simply cant believe that the Patriots are unbeatable. We may not sack Brady , I think we CAN pick him. Nobody has rocked their recievers yet either, anybody here think we cant do that? Offense is key in our gameplan, lets just hope that the coaches realize that a 60yard pass interception on 3rd down is just as good as a punt. We cannot be afraid to make mistakes on offense this week. This game isnt a MUST win.
Suisham also needs to remove his head from his butt this week, he is gonna be needed.

Randy Moss can jump 20 feet in the air and has hands made of glue.

Right now, I think

ey and Campbell are our best offensive players and that Campbell, being a QB, is the most important of the two. Samuels is a slow third.

We've got to go to a 4 or 5 wr set often and pass all over the field about three out of four times to have a chance. If we come out running the ball we'll be clobbered. We'll have to risk interceptions, timing routes, and sacks. But what the hell. Prime Campbell to throw it away if nothing opens quick and he's is trouble. Turn the guy loose. Play to score-- no conservative drives. There is absolutely nothing to lose that we're not certain to lose if we pull our usual BS.
