QB 4 the Cards

Anyone heard who's starting QB for the Cards this week?
What's that guys name, Ratty?
Anyone know if he's any good?
The highlights I saw from their last game, it was all the Edge that helped the Cards. Didn't see any highlights of passes.
So, that being said it would seem we need to stop the running game. Which I would say Fletch, Rocky, and Washington (if He's back) can shut him down.
Then we would have to watch out for Anquan Boldin. At his size bump and run coverage, IMO won't work. Carlos will get knocked on his but.
But I don't know how good this QB is, hopefully he won't have the time in the pocket for us to find out.

It's Rattay, as in Tim Rattay.
He and Brandon Lloyd led the Niners to a 52-10 loss against Washington at FedEx in 05.
Perhaps he's here for an encore.

I think Smith was the QB that day.

Then you can expect 85-7, Skins.

At least in the fantasy section, CBS Sportsline says Warner is out and Rattay is in.
As far as Ratty goes, CBS says this "Rattay completed only 12-of-24 passes for 159 yards and threw three interceptions. He should improve on those numbers over time, but not in Week 7 at a very good Washington defense. Rattay is at best a desperation spot start in all Fantasy leagues. "

Alex Smith played that game, not Rattay. And the final score was 52-17. But you got the winner right.

And don't they have one of the worst o-lines?
If I remember right Edge couldn't even get out of the backfield before going down.
This could be a 4 sack game for Carter.

Tim Rattay isn't a bad QB, one plus currently is he's only been a Cardinal for 6 days, so im pretty sure he's not all that familar with the offence come sunday. Anquan Bolden makes his return on Sunday, so there WR's have skills, but the ? is can rattay get them the ball, More than likely try to establish a run game early with Edge, so stop the run probley be important.

I actually like to refer to him as "Ratty" myself. I thought he looked promising coming out of San Fran but then he was a third string for the Bucs and was eventually cut. This was before they acquired Garcia. If my memory serve me correctly the other QB's that started over him were Gradkowski and Sims. Remember the Cards picked him up off the street. This guy is not Brady and if he has a big game against the 'skins it will be disheartening.

The Cards have a weak O-Line but it appears we may have that as well on Sunday. This is likely going to be a defensive battle. I like having the home field and I also think we get the nod on defense. I don't expect Rattay to do much at all. That said, it is up to our offense to take advantage of the opportunities it gets, because with the weakened line, there may only be a handful. At full strength, I think we put on a similar performance to the one against Detroit but now we just need to make plays when they're there. We're going to need the same effort from the D and special teams and a more opportunistic offensive effort than we got in the 2nd half of Sunday.

weird, i had been thinking all this time that it had been ken dorsey at QB when we demolished them in '05. but i'm looking at the box score and it clearly says smith.
A. Smith 8/16 92 Yards 5 Sacks for 38 Yards Lost 0 TD 1 INT
but with those numbers, it's no wonder i thought it was dorsey. in fact i have to confess, i haven't really seen much difference between the 2 at any point.
i guess that's what you get when you get stuck picking some schlubb that no one really even thinks is any good, just because you have the #1 pick and no one else wants it.

I think Warner will pay sunday. This is what the Cards say.
"Kurt Warner had four different braces on his left elbow Wednesday. Thursday, he was down to one."
Warner also said
"Warner said his biggest issue is not actually throwing the ball but in the moments leading to the pass. Normally, Warner likes to pat the ball. The brace and his arm angle makes that more difficult."
It also, seems that the Cards Fitzgerald is having simular fumble issues as Portis.
"Whisenhunt said earlier this week it was only natural to worry about the three fumbles in four weeks by receiver Larry Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald admitted he was frustrated because he has never been a fumbler, and now opponents are clearly making more of an effort to knock the ball loose."

This whole Warner thing sounds like a ploy to throw off our coaching staff. He is putting himself at tremendous risk by playing and even if he does play it's going to be hard for him to be effective. He can't hand off with this left hand and he already has fumbling problems and this can only compound that. Rattay isn't great but he isn't terrible either so I still think that he is going to get the majority of the snaps on Sunday.

I just saw on the NFL network that Warner won't be playing on Sunday.

It would be a hell of a risk for the Cardinals to take. They know what kind of defensive attitude that the Skins will have in this game. Starting Warner with a bum elbow is like blood in the water, Rattay or Hasselbeck would be just as bad but , the Cards can afford to lose one of them. Our D will be even more aggressive this week than we have been so far this season, look for it. Expect that "rip" blitz from Landry more than once this week as its effective versus the run as well. Even if Landry doesnt make the tackle , penetration is always disruptive. Daniels is key to that blitz however, how close is he to 100%? anyone heard?

And to think I always thought we were they same person.....I was wrong. You are mush closer to being a comic than I am.. You ROCK....but our thoughts are still the same...lol
