So is Brandon Lloyd officially done?

I was really expecting Lloyd to bust out in 2007. Is he this year's Archuleta or what??
Here's a bit from JLC's blog this afternoon:
While we're talking about coaching/management, it seems to me something is awry when the wide receiver you gave $10 million guaranteed can't even get on the field in four-wide sets with the game on the line and you need big yards downfield, and when guys like James Thrash and Todd Yoder are deemed more helpful even in these critical situations, then just sit the WR. If nothing else, at least Lloyd has speed, but if you're not using him here, then don't dress him at all
That situation is a joke all the way around. Have Caldwell, who at least has some size and has made some plays, up and make No. 85 inactive, whether Caldwell is allegedly ready to help out on special teams or now. It's not like any WR on the roster other than Thrash is playing teams, and 85 surely ain't, so I'm not buying the rhetoric about Caldwell being inactive because of special teams.
So with the offense in desperation mode on the final drive, the franchise RB and a WR you just gave $10 million a few years ago aren't even on the field?

Bah, he just doesn't get "Opportunities" or get balls thrown "His Way"
I have always believed that he will get it turned around but I'm starting to see that "he is what we thought he is". I think Arch took most of the spotlight last season and now we finally see that #85 cannot perform in this offense. He either does not know how this offense runs or he is just complacent on how everything is, polish pine and collect game checks... I don't know, I'm not in Management or coaching staff, but if he cannot impress them enough to put him on the field the by all means, SAYONARA....

Well, his productivity doesn't seem to have picked up this weekend. Ho hum, what is going on?

With the powerhouse offensive production the Redskins are getting, who needs additional wide receivers cluttering up the field of play?

How many catches did James Thrash have again?? 0! The offensive play calling was horrible in the second half. I agree if we weren't getting it done Brandon should have been given a shot but I also wouldn't have told Jason to spike the ball on first down when our offense was set and the Giants defense was not. I think that this entire thing can be summed up by two words "poor managment" and this applies to Brandon's current situation as well. If they believed he made a mistake a few weeks ago then fine but you don't just put him on the bench for good. Sit him a game and then see what he can do when no one else seems to be getting anything done.

Making sense will get you nowhere.

Why would you hope one of our players are a bust? I think he is not getting enough opportunities and probably that because he's not lightning it up in practice, slim opportunities he does gets he's not getting it done so the qb as well as Saunders does not have confidence in him.
Maybe he should have hung around J.Campbell all offseason and sleep under his armpits like Randel El did.

It's only three games into the season, and there's still time to see him work his way back into the mix. However, ARE is making a strong case for #85 to continue to sit.

I think that over the bye week we will work in Caldwell and if can play we will have seen the last of Lloyd.

Sounds like #85's days are numbered. It's not like he didn't get a chance, I personally wanted him to succeed. We need a compliment to Santana, as well as depth for 16 games.. There must be something we don't know about that is causing his not playing. We have 2 weeks to get Caldwell up to speed & shore up the O line. We need to lick our wounds and get back out there, "It's a long season" and we have just begun...

Im tired of standing up for BLloyd. This guys a joke! You can't rap, can't run, can't catch! So give back the jersey and playbook and get out of town! Your garbage!

Yes, he is finished as a Redskin but they will still keep him since it's the backwards thing to do.

We need to throw in Brandon Lloyd. I dont want James Trash in there at all we should just cut James thrash already.
Lloyd needs to at least get a shot out there.

In the past Thrash was a lot cheaper and played some great special teams. I don't remember noticing him so much on special teams though this year. Things sure don't look good for Lloyd though, you can't pay a guy that many mil to do nothing.

Agreed how could we bench a guy we are paying so much too? When he is in it seems like JC never throws his way anyhow.

No quick fixes please....so nuff with the Chambers requests...
Thrash isn't getting to do much on Teams cus the other guys (Landry,Taylor,Torrence,Blades,McIntosh) etc are beating him to the guy.
Thrash catches just about anything you throw to the him.
BLloyd chokes just about anytime he.....
a-makes it on the field
b-runs a route
c-trys to catch the ball
Sorry but thats a receipe for insanity at the WIDE RECIEVER position.
ANSWER-
Thank god for ARE steppin up huge
Hopefully Caldwell will ramp up over the Bye week to play #3/#4
P.S. How about put Yoder in the blocking positions so COOLEY can run more routes?
HAIL!

HardDawg how do you know what routes anyone on the field is supposed to be running? I think you're a little hypercritical and it sounds like you're more concerned with getting rid of people then you are about winning games. People who post like they know everything really bug those of that really do.
Perhaps you should be more concerned with spelling a full word then with personel decisions.

in 2 weeks we should start Cardwell at 3rd string and see what he can do.

Exactly WHEN has BLloyd given any reason for anyone to have ANY faith in him? Because the skins signed him? We signed archeleta, too, and he's history as well. BLloyd has NEVER done anything constistantly except disappoint. The only time I've seen him to ANYTHING this year is give up on that TD pass a few weeks ago. His attitude came over with him from SF and he hasn't changed IMO. He's shown nothing to change my opinion of him and obviously of the coaching staff. I wouldn't throw to him, either, if I was JC with the lack of effort he shows. I even gave him teh benefit of the doubt thru his first year here, but no improvement that I've seen.

You know, I can't argue with this at all. I'm a fan who never played the game, so I just assume when we sign somebody and give him a big contract its because some smart guy in the Redskins org saw he had talent and could help the team.
I kind of understand what's happened in the past with overpaying for guys who were past their prime. But Lloyd is really a bizarre case.
This looks like one of those deals where we won't see Lloyd for the rest of the season, cut him and he'll talk trash about it on the way out the door. Just a guess.

We need "Depth" at that postion for our playoff run.
We should take the same approach as the eagles did. (Pains me to say that) But we need to concentrate plays around 1 or 2 guys, run a whole bunch of plays thru them get them in a rythm and score big points, it seems that when 'Tana catches it for 20+ yds we run run and pass to ARE the rest of the time. Or when

ey gets a nice gain, we run run and we never look his way again. What do you guys think? Personally, we have good depth and we are hurting the team by forcing even distribution. We don't let anyone get Hot..

I completly agree that here are offense is struggling in the second half and we can't even put in Lloyd and allow him to play. He has not had a fair shake since he has been here. Even Gibbs said last year that they need to throw him the ball more. So, I don't understand we have all these good recievers but we don't use them.
