Even the Retro jerseys must be white? WHY?

First post since last year, same topic as last year...

Why why why MUST the Redskins dress as the visiting team for home games? I'm no fashion consultant, but the red jerseys looked just fine to me vs. Philly.

And today we have Retro, but of course the shirts MUST be white. Why not just change the burgundy-and-gold to white-and-gold?

This white shirt look is long, long past stale. And why not change all the burgundy backgrounds on this site to white, its more of a team color than burgundy is these days.

Does anybody know what the issue is with this franchise? What is wrong w/ burgundy jerseys?

I totally agree!!! The Skins look so dominant in the Burg during the Philly game...then today, we look great in the retro but why does it have to be white? We wore or dark jersey as the home uniforms back in the day....so why not now. I really wish would wear are dark jerseys from this point out!

The Skins retro uniforms are the least of my concerns right now.

The Eagles strategy was to make Detroit ill looking at those uniforms. It worked to perfection. Take Note, Washington.

I was told that Gibbs likes the white because it enables his quarterback to see the receiver better. He thinks the burgundy makes the guy blend in more with the surroundings. Not making this up.

Really. I mean, superstition aside, the color of our jerseys don't cause us to win or lose football games. We could go out there in green, and as long as we win, I'll be happy.

The Redskins were the visiting team in philadelphia so some other teams wear white at home as well... Philly alternates between wearing green and white jerseys... dallas has always worn white at home. miami alternates between wearing white and green jerseys. i like wearing the white jerseys at home... it's different.

OK, I vowed not to talk Redskins football this week...as a "pressure release period". This isn't quite "what happened in the second half", so...

I think that Gibbs believes the white jerseys make it slightly easier for the QB to spot receivers...and for the team to spot each other. Watching Gibbs since the beginning, it doesn't have to be a clear edge, "night and day', but just the smallest advantage.

Imagine: especially a night game, or a game in the shadows, what catches your eye quicker: burgundy or white?

Gibbs works out every detail...always has. I don't think this choice is superstition.

Now George Allen, "Wiley George", seemed to think that the burgundy jersey game his team an emotional boost. A jinx thing, I suspect. Old George had his own style.
