Congress Hard At Work, As Usual

The Senate voted 72-25 to pass a resolution condemning a MoveOn.org ad that referred to Gen. David Petraeus, the commander of U.S. forces in Iraq, as "Gen. Betray Us."
It may be asking too much, but is there any chance we will ever elect anyone who spends time worrying about anything important? This simply cannot be the most important issue Congress could or should be focusing on right now.

Not that I don't agree with your basic point, but on the other hand, isn't doing stupid things wasting their time actually an
improvement over whatever else they are likely to be doing? Is any bill that doesn't reach into our wallets actually not so bad?

And, Congress spent all night long in a filibuster before finally reaching agreement on a resolution that affirmed the fact that Monday comes after Sunday.

congress does have more important things but they have done nothing since they got elected anyways so whats a few more days gonna do. I like the fact that they had to vote on this because it lets the American people know where they stand on crazy issues this. To tell a genral that he betrayed his own country by serving honerably for 20 some years is just wrong! And go figure Hillary and Obama voted just to please the base.
