NFC East smash it up. Can't wait.

Redskins win.

On defense the Giants are way out of sorts. They don't have the players to be any kind of attacking defense. To do that you need to have corners who can match up one on one consistantly. The Giants don't have that. Add to that the poor play of the linebackers and mediocre play of the safeties and (attacking defense) is probably the last thing you should be trying to have. The pass rush which is supposed to be this teams strong suit hasn't been extremely impressive.

The Giants offense has put up some points and moved the ball well but I think the lack of a home run threat in Tiki is going to slow this team down. I like Jacobs, he can wear down a defense and has a mean streak. (is he playing this week?).

Redskins are good against the run and London Fletcher is a great tackler but if the game is close and low scoring Jacobs in the fourth quarter could be dangerous. With the Giants defense I'm not sure I see that happening though. They've flat out stunk.

Add to that the fact that Coughlin is very well liked and may be a lame duck I'd be surprised to see the team come into Washington with a ton of enthusiasm.

The Redskins;

Offense: Has been inconsistant but has shown flashes and appears to be getting better. Cambell is maturing and winning on the road in Philly was a big boost for him. He didn't put up gaudy numbers but overall played a very smart game and made plays where he had too.

The Redskins have a nice running game with Portis and Betts and which helps Cambell alot.

Cooley, Moss and Portis are all legitimate threats. Betts is a very nice complement to Portis and Randel El looks to be turning into a legitimate number 2 receiver. Lloyd is trash (all the talent in the world but no heart).

Defense:

Weak link is the defensive line. It's good against the run but doesn't generate much of a pass rush without someone else coming in on a blitz. The rest of the defense is solid.

You haven't heard a lot about Sean Taylor this year but his presense is definately felt. He's been moved to free safety and there haven't been a lot of passes thrown in his direction over the middle. Landry is a rookie safety but he hasn't had a ton of rookie mistakes (that's a young and very talented safety tandem)

Linebackers are playing superb. London Fletcher was a huge pickup. I can't remember seeing a middle linebacker play so well on the Redskins in a while. Antonio Pierce was close but not as mobile. McIntosh is turning into a stud linebacker and Washington has been a stud linebacker for awhile now.

The corners are deep and haven't be beat a whole lot. They can match up one on one pretty consistently. I think Burress will match up well against them with his height but his prone to just disappear in games so who knows. Toomer is healthy and still has something left in the tank (I wouldn't be surprised if he's a more consistant threat).

Shockey is a very good tight end and will make plays but the Redskins match up well against him. I don't see him shredding the Redskins defense.

After watching both teams play the last two games I just don't see the Giants going on the road and all of a sudden looking that much better. They seem to be getting worse on the flip side the Redskins look to be moving in the right direction.

Don't be so modest:

I expect to see Cooley with over 100 yards receiving and Portis over 100 Rushing. We will also make your crappy QB look like an all-pro.

Really means very little what the giants' fans and the media in NY think of their team - the only thing that is really important is how the players of that bunch of guys in the NY uniform think about themselves - IF, as I believe, they come into our house thinking they can get out of here with a W and our team thinks they can just show up - next week we could be saying well we are still 2-1

Our players and coaches better be really ready to play a tough game because these guys from NY have won a bunch of games recently against our team that they should not have won IMO and we need to show up and play as well as we can or they will steal another from us.

I would not bet on this game as these NFC East games always seem to be not what you expect and it surely will be again. We should win but it will either be a blowout or a really tight game.

True Enough. The Gnats are not likely to start the season 6-2 this year like they did last year. I don't see the Gnats winning 6 games this season the way they are playing right now.
