Tank Johnson to Dallas, of course

Tank Johnson says he EXPECTS to play for the Cowboys when his 8-game suspension is up. There's nothing official.
I just posted this because it reinforces my belief that the Cowboys would pull people out of jail and let them suit up if they thought those players would help them win games. They are beyond shameless.
Just wait until the 2009 season when T.O., Tank Johnson, and Mike Vick are all wearing Cowboys jerseys. I'd be embarassed to root for a team like them but whatever.

It is as predictable as can be - like when the T.O. stuff was going down in Philly there was never a doubt who he'd end up with.

Now it is official.
What a first class organization they got there.

Tank - Isn't that a common nickname for a jail cell?

What do you mean "of course"? They had to outbid Oakland & Cincy to get him.

FYI: ttiT has a bye week 8 so he'll have to wait until week 10 to play.

I mean "of course" bc players like that just always seem to somehow end up in Dallas.
Just wait until Mike Vick is playing there in a couple years.

Wow, this is hilarious.
Have we looked at the recent history in Dallas with the "trouble" players?
Terry Glenn -- Most respected reciever on the team and the COWBOYS basically raped the packers with the trade. When he ins't nicked up, he's amazing.
Keyshawn Johnson -- Thrown out of Tampa and wasn't even close to being an issue in Dallas. He threw his little fits once in a while on the sideline, but, never was a big issue.
Terrell Owens -- Sure he suffers from ANAD (always needs attention disorder), but has the guy actually caused any real trauma to the Cowboys, outside of what the media thinks, the answer is no.
Sure, Tank Williams has issues, but, lets be realistic. The guy has talent and he cleans up his act he'll be just fine. He's only making the league minimum, so it's not like they broke the bank on this guy. He's insurance, and that's really it. So, like other embattled players it's a test drive contract. If you don't work, you dump him and move on and nothing is lost. If it works out, you've got yourself a high-calibur 25 year old Nose Tackle that most 3-4 teams would kill to have.
BTW, he can be have the suspension reduced to 6 games.

Huh?
So you continually complain that we don't develop talent and now that we have two young guys in the DT rotation, "we need help badly" and should go after a suspended player?
Where'd you come up with enough butter to cover both sides of that bread?

Based upon this logic, perhaps the Redskins should sign Ricky Williams and Koren Robinson, too, just to see how much production they can squeeze out before the next suspensions ...
Seriously, there is no part of me, and more importantly, there is no part of Joe Gibbs that wants players like these as Washington Redskins. I doubt Joe has forgotten about the Dexter Manley situation, a constant reminder of the reasons not to take a chance on troublemakers.

Yeah, it's easy to forget guys like Dwayne Goodrich - especially when they're still in jail.

Dwayne Goodrich -- not recent history.

I just hope this guy continues to live and behave off the field as he has done recently - it will be very interesting to see what sort of punishment Goodell hands down to ttiT for taking on a player with so many character issues

We need a pass rush plain and simple and who said I feel they should replace the young guys? Maybe I feel he could be the replacement for Griffin? Since I didn't specify any of that, you'd have to be assuming on your part. Why would anyone need to be replaced? Gregg has no starters, Tank would just be inserted in along with the rest of them.

Well, if that was true, at that point I'd have to question your judgment of the talent the Skins already have.

You're right by saying "if", cus it isn't true. I was just stating that I didn't specify who I believed should/would be replaced. In my following comment I said that nobody would have to be replaced.

As far as T.O. is concerned, I think the skins should have shown interest. But this guy is suspended and unreliable at best. This seems a bit desperate.

I hate to say it, but Dallas made the right move. They are not paying him squat, so even if he doesn't pan out they are out of nothing. If he does pan out they have a good player for cheap. It is sort of a no lose situation. Tank is bound to be smarter than Pacman. I think he will probably keep his nose clean from now on.

I know but they'll be gleaning information about the Bears D from him.
Glad the Skins never bothered with him - his notoriety far exceeds his talent.

the real issue here is that dallas sees the skins with two O line injuries and ggoes out to aquire someone that can exploit it. now that we are the only two NFC east teams that are any good it is a huge step forward for their organiszation.
what can we do to exploit problems on there team?
