I am curious to know if it bothers you to see an interracial relationship? I ask because I am white and my girlfriend is black. It's not very common for a white man to be with a black woman IMO. I have been told that black men especially do not like to see a black woman with a white man for whatever reason. I had an experience at the Ravens scrimmage where I felt "racism" from a group of black males yelling some comments directed at me.

I think it depends a lot upon the area as to how widely accepted interracial relationships are to people. Usually, I don't feel any looks of "disapproval" where I live but I think it is because I live in a diverse area. We had dinner with some friends that are together and are interracial (Black male from Dominican Republic and white female). They said the experienced "discomfort" for the first time while in the Northern part of Ocean City, MD.

It goes both ways white male/black female and black male/white female as far as people not liking interracial couples. So far, I have experienced more "heat" from black males than I have from anyone else. Feel free to give your opinion on how you feel about the question that was asked. I am just trying to get a feel for how people feel overall.

My serious answer is, I couldn't care less who dates who, black, white, green periwinkle, gay straight, not sure. As long as a Skins fan doesn't marry a puke fan.

The insemination of our female population by extraterrestrials does bother me a bit.

Let's see. I've been with a black woman, a chinese woman, and a Russian so far (the Russian chick was white, but her heart was fire engine red! Whew!)

So...heck now....this doesn't bother me at all!

I'm a fan of women of all colors! Why limit yourself?!?!? A hottie is a hottie no matter what color she is.

I believe that the PERSON and the chemistry between the COUPLE is what makes all the difference. Race has nothing to do with it in order to be happy.

I have met astonishingly beautiful and intelligent women from different ethnic backgrounds. Some really caring and valuable women. I have always told myself that I could have had as a wife one among two or three of them and be very HAPPY. I am lucky to have one of them as a wife for quite some time now.

I don't care what my family or anyone else has to say rather I was just wanting everyones opinion. My dad is the only one that really has to adjust. It was a shock to him because I hate to say it but he has a tendency to be prejudice. The rest of my family has been ok with it and actually enjoy having her around. I also have to admit that it was a little different than what I was used to when we first got together but now it is just like normal.

I will never date a puke fan. NEVER! I am grooming her to be a redskins fan. It is taking some work because she likes to refer to Clinton Portis as Curtis Portis but she is coming around. She is an All-Star cheerleader and has actually tried out for the Redskinettes a couple of years ago. I would love to see her in Burgundy and Gold That my friends would be true love!

Why do you care what other people think? For the record, I could care less who dates who; but this world has many racist, bigoted, prejudiced people that probably don't agree with "what you are doing." Fact is, you're not going to change their minds, so why not forget about what they think? You shouldn't need to justify your relationship to anyone but yourself.

Bottom line: If you're happy, and she's happy - that should be all that matters.

I don't really care what people think about my relationship rather I was just trying to see where the public opinion stood for the most part. Being bigoted is just ignorant because you are liking/disliking someone on their skin color. I grew up in a prejudice household and that is something that I had to overcome as I grew up. Now, I am an influence on my dad in a way that no one else can be. That is to show him that people are people no matter how they look.

I just want other people to see that hate takes much more energy than accepting people for who they are. I shouldn't have confrontations like a had this week on my vacation because I am white and my gf is black. My gf and I go to sit at an outside bar in Ocean City and some white racist tried start some crap when he could have just minded his own business. He obviously had a problem with our interracial relationship for absolutely no reason other than bigotry. Ignorant, purely ignorant.

But it is a pain when they both don't speak the same native language of the other, and you're in a family gathering where the family doesn't speak the language of the "partner".

Very awkward, from both the family's side, and, of course, the "partner".

A long way to go indeed. A lot of people are still seeing the world as a black and white portrait instead of a colorful mosaic painting.

I have no problem with it when the couple is together for the right reasons.

Like love or even lust (as long as both people know it is just a lust thing).

I have a problem when someone is with someone of another race (no matter which one) simply because they are that race. Wether they always wanted to bag or date a white, black, asian, latino or equine. Or if they are using that relationship to make some kind of statemant or status symbol.

Fall in love or lust with no color filters on. As someone else stated "hot is hot!" There are all kinds of smokin hot women.

But don't do it for a notch on the belt or to irritate a family member. That isn't fair to the other person.

And most importantly don't change who you are to make it work. You shouldn't act or talk differently because you are dating someone of another race.
