Some disappointing ratings if you ask me. There are updates during the season but Campbell at 81 while Russell is an 83 and hasn't played a down? That makes little sense to me.
The depth chart:
Campbell 81, Brunell 80, Collins 73
Portis 92, Betts 84, Blaylock 74, Cartwright 70
Sellers 83

ey 90, Yoder 65
Samuels 94, Armstrong 66
Wade 85, Pucillo 75 , Whitley 72
Rabach 85, Tucker 77
Thomas 93, Whittaker 68
Jansen 90, Fabini 82
Moss 88, Lloyd 78, Randle El 74, Thrash 68
Carter 85, Daniels 80, Wynn 78, Evans 65
Griffin 88, Golston 79, Salave'a 69, Boshetti 65, Montgomery 64
Fletcher 95, Washington 90, McIntosh 78, Marshall 83, Campbell 64, Blades 66, Sartz 66
Springs 88, Rogers 88, Smoot 83, Macklin 76, Butler 73, Jimoh 61
Taylor 90 (R. Williams 92

), Landry 85, Prioleau 76, Stoutmire 78, Fox 72
Suisham 79, Frost 76

I don't have an issue with the ratings at all.
Sellers rating is great for a FB who doesn't get hardly any touches during the season. I'm sure his run and pass blocking scores are high.
Moss had a down year so I'm not shocked he was knocked down.
Jansen could be higher but 90 is great still.
I spank people who use the Colts and Pats all the time. It's all about figuring out which defenses stop which plays and Sean Taylor. He is amazing in Madden.
The addition of Landry isn't even fair! LOL

Chris, I agree. I use Taylor all the time as well and it'll definitely be nice not having to worry about getting beat deep on the right side of the field. Landry's speed rating is a 94. He's faster than Taylor. Not fair at all, for the opposition at least... I guess the ratings aren't THAT bad. I was surprised to see Rogers get the bump up though. Campbell's rating is garbage and it'll be harder to pass with them this year.
Chris, are we going to finally get a game in this year? Do you still have the same Live name?

G3TSUM is mine. I'll keep an eye out. I don't have 06 anymore though. Just 07. I'm sure that's what you meant. I'd probably be down with one final farewell to 07. After watching some video of 08 I haven't really had the urge to pick it up again.

My issue is with Rogers and Springs being nearly identical in ratings. Namely that Rogers catch rating is only 3 points lower than Springs'.
Sean Taylor's hit power is 99, Landry's is 90. Pursuit both 90. Landry's awareness only 62?
Mike Sellers' injury rating is only 52 while Portis is 70? His trucking is only 64 while Portis, Betts, Cartwright are in the 80's?
Collins is only a couple points behind Brunell in Awareness, Throw Power, and Accuracy?
London Fletcher will be a beast against the run in this game. 95 overall. 92 Awareness. 97 Tackle. 94 block shedding.
A lot of it makes sense, but some of these ratings don't seem based on reality.

I agree but don't mind too much. The DB AI is so dumb in Madden that you can't notice a difference between a 40 rating and a 85.
Hooligan wrote:Sean Taylor's hit power is 99, Landry's is 90. Pursuit both 90. Landry's awareness only 62?
Landry should be in the mid to high 70's. That definitely does suck. I think his hit power is decent for a rookie... He's listed as a brick wall defender.
Hooligan wrote:Mike Sellers' injury rating is only 52 while Portis is 70? His trucking is only 64 while Portis, Betts, Cartwright are in the 80's?
Definitely a flaw, although trucking only comes into play while running the ball. I don't run with the FB at all so it don't bother me. As long as he can sustain a block I'm good. But I do agree that it's a flaw compared to real life.
Hooligan wrote:Collins is only a couple points behind Brunell in Awareness, Throw Power, and Accuracy?
lol

RIGHT! Especially for my base defense.
Hooligan wrote:A lot of it makes sense, but some of these ratings don't seem based on reality.
Nope and you'd think that they'd be able to do a better job but whatever. I really hope that our dline steps up big time this season. Also Lloyd. I need their help. =)

Im not shocked Moss rating is down, it still sucks though. He had an off year so all of a sudden he's 88? Taylor had an off year and he is still in the 90s at least. Truth of it is, you could throw the ball on a hell mary and Moss would 90% time come down with the ball.
Whats the overall team rating, 78??
And yes, if you have greater skill, you can beat the guys using colts and pats, but if you are playing someone of equal skill you will notice the difference.

They did the same thing to Taylor when he came out of college -- huge physical stats and hitting stats. . .something has to give. . .

Nooooo. . .in a Madden computer game?

Randle El a 74??? And Todd Collins is a 73!!! I think Randle El is much better than 1 point compared to our 3rd string QB.

I'm definetly going to have to agree with that. Collins is only here because of Saunders, and Randle El is up and coming for the skins. ESPECIALLY after coming off of the season with that TD pass to Moss. I dont even CARE that we lost that game, he was pumped and he's going into '07 with a bang.

everyone needs to remember that EA has to rate like 1800 players so they cant get everything right, but im excited about the lb's and dbs

I consistently whop on players who play with the Colts, Steelers or whoever. Me and my brothers all six and cousins have yearly battles at Madden.
For example my cousin is very good at using the Colts, Manning is like Superman back there in the pocket if you give him more than three seconds he is going to make the completion three out of four times.
Since I lost Arrington from the previous Maddens 05,06, I now have to use Taylor in Safety blitz plays to get the Qb, while dropping the rest in a zone or man up. Boy it is going to be fun having Landry help along side Taylor and a revamped Secondary. We should be able to blitz the backers more often with this solid secondary. Next year I am praying for a Defensive End in the draft!

Yeah but they are THE NFL licensed football simulation. I believe they owe it to the consumer to get it right. But they are to busy sniffing the money to actually make a decent improvement over previous years.
Anyway, I won't launch into my Madden stinks on the 360 tirade, so back to topic: the overall ratings seem decently thought out but the breakdowns are somewhat off in some circumstances. (However, we had a losing season last year and should be thankful they still rated some of our players in the 90s.

If Fletcher lives up to his Madden rating then we are going to be a whole new defense.
Question? Do they rank our coach?

I was looking at the player stats. Thought this was interesting.
They have catching stats as.
Antwaan Randle El 79
Brandon Lloyd 82
Santana Moss 87
Chris

ey 87
Carlos Rogers 63
Shawn Springs 66
Fred Smoot 70
Sean Taylor 82
LaRon Landry 60
Pierson Prioleau 54
Clinton Portis 67
Ladell Betts 68
Derrick Blaylock 72
Derrick Blaylock can catch better than any of our backs on the Dbacks or OBacks except for Taylor.
Who is the slowest on the team?
Shaun Suisham /Speed 43
Strange???
All of our linemen have more speed than Shaun Suisham/ Even Mark Boonell has more speed than Shaun.
Who is the fastest?
Moss / 98
Who is the strongest?
Chris Samuels /97
Who is the weakest?
Derrick Frost /Shaun Suisham /40
Whos next weakest in line?
Brandon Lloyd /Santana Moss / Tied 44
Ade Jimoh /Fred Smoot /Tied 45
Strange??
All our QB's are stronger than any of our RWs.
Something strange?
Mike Sellers /strength 72
Rock Cartwright /strength 77
and Do you beleive Boonell is faster than Sellers?

Hopefully this shows that EA needs to have exclusivity ripped from their dirty hands.

Maybe, but I can't stand the game play of other companies

kind of hard to believe Sellers strength is only 72.. has anyone from EA even seen Mike Sellers.. or heard from the players who ALL agree hes the strongest on the team
