What's up guys? I'm an enormous Dolphins fan and wanted to head over to a Redskins site to talk about our opening day matchup. What are your guys views and feelings towards the Dolphins as your first opponent? We've had a few Skins fans over Finheaven and it seems you guys are taking us pretty lightly. Let the discussion begin.

Glad to see you think so, considering the last time the 2 teams played Miami won. (2003 Sunday nighter aka the return of Jay Fiedler.)

I highly doubt you "harpoon" the Fins. The Skins are going to have a tough time scoring on us with basically a rookie QB, an over rated running back, and a Steve Smith wannabe. I'm looking at about 10 maybe 13 points for the Skins, I'm positive the Fins score at least that many.

I can't wait for the season to get here.

ask trent green how many points we are going to score. He knows what we can do in the second year of Al Saunders offense. You would love to have our running back tandem. Dont foget betts had 6 straight 100 + yard games at the end. Oh yeah and JC threw for a touch down in every game he started. I think I would mark that as a L if I were a dolphins fan.

If you're a Redskins fan, yes. But I don't think there's any one else really worried about the Skins this year, me included. I'd take Ronnie Brown over Clinton Portis any day of the week and twice on Sunday. All those accomplishments are nice against the JV teams of the NFC, but when you venture into the AFC, you'll find some better compition. Good luck blocking Taylor and Porter.

Well, thank god you aren't worried, the fact that you think Brown is better than Portis is proof positive of your overwhelming knowledge. Fun facts: one of these running backs has 18 rushing touchdowns in two years and the other has nine. One of them rushed for 2039 that past two seasons (while missing a significant portion of one) while the other rushed for 1915. One of them has three fumbles in the past two years, the other has eight. One of their teams finished 7th and 4th in rushing the past two seasons, the other finished finished 12th and 22nd. Twenty second is a 10 spot drop in one year, in case that didn't jump out at you. Is this getting boring yet? I'm bored, so the first running back in each scenario is Portis and the second is Brown. It's good to know you'd take Ronnie twice on Sundays, you need to double his production to make this a competition.
As for that pass rush, I guess the Redskins just have to hope the offensive line that surrendered the third fewest sacks in the league last year will have to suffice.

Oh, forgot one thing, the JV division has featured five playoff teams in two seasons, the senior circuit had three.

You can tell football season is in the air! I love it! Nice stats FIOS. I hope the Dolphins treat Campbell as a "rookie" QB because he will light up the score board if that is the case. Chicken of the sea anyone?

Ronnie Brown was a rookie 2 years ago. All those numbers you just gave me are nice, but what about the situation? Look at the line Brown has been, the guy breaks a tackle on every single play. Had Brown completed the year last year, he would've achieved 1250 yards.

I'm not sure what you're talking about here. I'm assuming you're talking about divisions rather then conferences. Big deal if they have a good division, it's still in the NFC. The NFC is WAY behind the AFC right now. The 5 best teams in the NFL are all in the AFC. Look what happened when the best in the NFC (Chicago Bears) last year played Miami (31-13 Miami.) How are the one of the NFC's worst going to handle the Fins?

It would have been faster for him to simply type: "I concede the point." Although it is kinda impressive that Brown is both a back AND his own offensive line ... that might explain some of Miami's struggles.

The 'fin receivers should be afraid ... very afraid ...

LeRon Landry, SS: The team's first round draft choice will team up with Sean Taylor to form one of the fastest and most-feared safety combinations in the game. It'll also be one of the youngest, meaning this position could be a staple in Washington's defense for years to come. Receivers beware.

This will not be a good game for the 'fins because:

1. 1st regular season game - full playbook available
2. home game at FedEx Field - nuff said
3. many of our players will be playing with a chip on their shoulder for not diong better last year - always a great motivator

I'm not much of a stats guy so someone help me with this one but if I'm not mistaken our backup got more than 1250 yards and he didn't start the whole season either.

I just want to make sure I understand you would rather have a guy who can't produce more than our backup (Betts) instead of having our starter? Well IMO you can have him!

Its great that your here! I just was to say that I can't wait until opening day! I can't wait to see your quarterback throw the football. I really want to know if Landry and Taylor are as good as the hype.............I mean, we all know Taylor is, but I want to see if Landry/ Taylor are! I just can't wait!

Betts started 9 games to Brown's 12 and had 1154 rushing yards (146 more than Brown) and 1599 total yards (315 more than Brown). So had Betts started all 16 games he would have had 2015 rushing yards, 2852 total yards, and 10, 100 yard games.

Do I think Betts would have reached those numbers? No! But Ronnie Brown, hasn't totalled those numbers in his two year carreer!

So lets put away this foolishness that Brown is better than Portis, he isn't even as good as Betts!

I didn't know we were going to face San Diego's defense when we play the Fins. Don't get me wrong, the Fins can get after the QB, but they aren't the best and not even second best (Baltimore). SD had 14 more sacks than the Fins and the Crows had 13 more.

I will say right now that our Jason (Campbell) throws more TDs than your Jason has sacks.

It will be nice to see Trent Green again!

What areas are the Dolphin clearly better than the Skins?

Here are the areas that the Skins are clearly better than the Fins:

RB - no contest
TE - again, not even close
OL - Ditto
WR - in the ball park, but edge to Bugandy and Gold
(what kind of color is Aqua any way)
Safety - Fins' WR better duck
CB - Who are the Dolphins CBs
LB - If you want to argue this one I will listen

So that only leaves QB and DL. Two very important areas, but I don't think that there will end up being that much difference in our up and coming QB and your used to be very good QB.

Hey, even a blind squirel gets a nut once in a while. Lets re-cap your TDs in that game.

First, TD was a six yard drive after a muffed punt (the only mistake D. Hester made all year). By the way Brown rushed 2 times for 1 yard on that long 6 yard drive.

Second, was a 20 yard Int return be Jason Taylor. I still don't know what Grossman was thinking!

Third, was your longest (34 yards) TD drive of the day afetr yet another Grossman bone head play, this time a fumble.

Forth, was a 12 yard drive after Grossman completes a 42 yard pass and the receiver fumbles the ball.

So that is 28 of the 31 point off of turn overs and I go back to the whole Squirel and nut thing. You had a Int returned for a TD and the other three TD drives totalled 52 yards. In other words, luck does play a factor in games.
