One of Allen's targets in Montreal will be Patrick Johnson, a 30-year-old wide receiver with 70 games of National Football League experience, who sat out a year before giving pro football one more try. He was born the summer Montreal was host city of the Olympic Games.

Johnson is considered old for a game of jumping, catching and getting crunched, but he's not done with his dream.

Johnson came to Toronto in exchange for a second-round draft pick in a trade with the Edmonton Eskimos. He'd signed with Edmonton in late May, after comeback tryouts in NFL camps.

The 5-foot-11, 191-pound native of Gainesville, Ga., was originally drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 1999, but admitted to frustration about being the No. 3 receiver on a team notorious for running the ball.

If he got into a game at all, it might be for only 10 plays, but he did record one catch (for eight yards) in the Ravens' 34-7 Super Bowl XXXV win over the New York Giants.

He has also played for the Jacksonville Jaguars, Washington Redskins and Cincinnati Bengals. In 70 career NFL games, he had 84 catches for 1,286 yards and 10 touchdowns.
