MYSTERY TEAM IN THE MIX FOR MOSS
Jason Wilde of the Wisconsin State Journal reports that, in addition to the Packers and the Patriots, a third team is in the mix for the veteran wideout.
But the third team isn't identified.
In the past, the Jaguars have been linked to Moss. We also think that Redskins owner Daniel Snyder, who has yet to make a splash in the offseason, might be interested in adding Moss to his team.
Wilde also confirms that the Packers have offered a fourth-round pick for Moss, and that the Raiders want a first-day pick. An industry source tells us that the Pats have offered a conditional fourth-rounder.
In 2005, the Raiders gave up a first-round pick (No. 7 overall), linebacker Napoleon Harris, and a seventh-round pick to acquire Moss from the Vikings.
And before any Minnesota fans get too excited about a possible return by Randy to the Metrodome, a league source tells us that the Vikings are not the mystery team. They haven't been contacted, we're told, and they don't want him back.
That is the best rumor of the year. Especially playing for the team he left the field on before the game was over. I love it. JK

It will not happen. When Moss was traded to the Raiders, there was talk of the Skins trying to get him. Gibbs stepped out and said that we were not interested. His character would not be a fit in Washington. We will not trade for a big egotistical aging player.

Every time a big-name free agent may become available, some knucklehead out there is going to say - "perhaps the Redskins are interested." It always always happens.

Even when Spurrier was here he knew better than to bring in trouble. I remember when San Fran only wanted a 2nd rd pick for TO and we were smart enough to say no. I hope everyone does keep sensible minds.

Art Monk and Gary Clark = Gibbs-type players
S. Moss = Gibbs-type player
R. Moss = Al Davis-type player. If he can't make it there, he can't make it anywhere.

Announcer #1: Cambell drops back to pass... fakes a reverse to Moss... rolls right, looks left to Moss in the open field, throws... Moss makes the catch is about to be tackled, laterals to Moss, Moss makes a great block for Moss, and Moss runs 50 yards and 6 points!!
Announcer #2: Great play, but which Moss did what?
Announcer#1: Well, the Moss in the end-zone is lighting a blunt while selling a nickel-bag to Sean Taylor.
Announcer#2: Must've been Randy. The coaches told him before the game to breakdown the nickel and take it to the redzone.

We're the free agency boogeymen.
You better be good or the Redskins will bid against you!

I just heard that Randy Moss is going to New England for a 4th round pick to Oakland. I am very happy we stayed out of this.

For a 4th?!?! What a steal!! I'd have definitely done that deal. Didn't we trade a 3rd AND a 4th for Brandon Lloyd, and which player do you think scares a team more - Lloyd or Moss?!? Man, New England is just going to be loaded next season!!

woulda, coulda, shoulda!
I doubt that Gibbs would ever want a player like this on his team - not to take anything away from the deal for the Pats - I am very sure that Bill will have this guy on a really short leash and this will be a big help to their offense if Moss decides to commit himself.
We have a lot of things to do and trying to get this "waste of ability" back into the team concept is about as low on our "things to do list" as to not even be worth considering.
