Saw this on another site. This is very interesting. Now this is a trade the Redskins need to do.

Keep the 6th pick in the draft and get a DE that has no injury history as long as Jenkins.

The Panthers will probably want something big in return, because Jenkins definetly has won a name for himself in the NFL.

Having this guy would make a huge difference for our defense... He's a huge DT that would allow Griff to do more pass rushing.

In an earlier post, I wondered if the Skins weren't trying to trade #6 to the Bears for Briggs and their #31 so they could turn around and trade #31 for Jenkins.

Now that would be super. Adding Jenkins and Briggs to our defense would make a huge difference. Let's do it!!!!!

He would dramatically upgrade our defense.....for about four games per season.

If it is for a half a season, well... No.

Jenkins played a full season last year, he also made the pro-bowl. So havin played a full season is a plus I say make the trade swap first round picks.

would only trade down into the first, for more picks..we need to start building with the draft....trade players for players, but not picks for players...that hasn't quite worked out well for us...

TJ Duckett was this years 3rd round pick...we could find a quality lineman, LB, TE at that position...

here's a thought...let's stockpile picks for next year's draft...and only entertain trades that involve US picking up a pick.

No, that's the method the Pats have used years past. Why follow them? The trade away draft picks for high priced free agents model is working great!

Why not just draft Branch or Okoye instead of an older, injury prone (although a proven NFL talent) player like Jenkins?
We need someone who will be there for years to come. Although the "media" reports that Alan Branch is slipping on charts, a big athletic DT like him is hard to find. We could entertain a trade and trade down a few picks and still get him. We need younger players to go with some of our older vets.

he basically missed both the 04 & 05 seasons w/ injuires!

Why on earth would we want a good player that MAYBE can produce a couple of nice season when you can draft practically the best DE/DT with the 6th pick?

When you´re picking that high in the draft you´re tlaking about a guy who will dive at least five years of productivity.

Pass on this one. He could be a lemon.

nothing is guarnateed when it comes to rookies reaching their expectations, thats why i think we should go after Jenkens and draft a DT in the later rounds this year or the next

It capped a triumphant comeback after he missed most of 2004 and 2005 with shoulder and knee injuries.

If we go with a DT I sure wouldnt mind having a stud like Kris Jenkins who has proven his worth year in and year out. Other than injuries he is good player.

In the years he played he has out produced our D line.

In the years that Reggie White has played in the last couple of decades, he's outplayed our line. But I don't think we should sign him either...

Seriously, Jenkins is just the kind of player I'd like the Redskins to sign on a cheap one year contract and make him prove himself. Much like the Darryl Gardener signing a few years back. But Jenkins will probably want big money now, and that's too much of a risk for our football team, IMO.

Yea i have but Springs and Griffin haven't been in any of those games. So maybe i wouldn't know if they are a mistake or not. So maybe you're right!

Give up nothing and wait for the Panthers to release him. I am sure that if we still want him after he is released Danny could make it happen, without giving up any picks.

If we could sign him to an incentive contract I say go for it, when healthy he is considered one of the best DT's in the game. He is worth taking some risk on.

Even Daniels has been a good player. Great locker room guy, great work ethic. Good against the run and pass.

As for Jenkins, I don't think any of us know enough about his current health status to make a solid judgement about his future. Would have to trust the medical staff to do a solid physical and test that knee thoroughly before deciding what Jenkins is worth. He would be a great addition if he checked out okay medically.

Jenkins is definetly someone to look at but the Panthers wouldnt shop a top end DT whose only 27 if they didnt have some serious doubts about the guys health and work ethic .. they see him everyday.. and the most disconcerning item i read about him is that he skipped the panthers 2 week conditioning program recently and that his weight is rumored to be close to 400.. he plays at around 330 - 340
