This sucks. Time to tank and get in on the Greg Oden sweepstakes.
WASHINGTON -- Washington Wizards point guard Gilbert Arenas was to have surgery Thursday on his left knee and is essentially done for the season.
Arenas was diagnosed with a lateral meniscus tear and was to have arthroscopic surgery later in the day at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington. The Wizards said the recovery time will be two to three months, meaning he might play again this season only if Washington manages to make the NBA finals without him.

Too late for the Wiz to drop far enough to be a player in the Oden lottery but, as a Cavs fan, I am definitely disappointed that Agent Zero won't be in action when I go to the game on Friday.

Wizards season is over. I am not much into basketball but I like Arenas and pull for the Wizards.

So are you an OSU fan too?
Has Oden said he's coming out? I watched UF pound OSU though, but Oden was amazing. I'm not an OSU fan but I am a Big Ten fan and once the Big Ten season's over root for any Big Ten teams. I did a quick google search and didn't see anything on Oden saying he was coming out.
I didn't watch a lot of the tourney this year. With the B-Ball and Hockey playoffs coming up and bing a Red Wing and Piston fan I try not to watch too much sports in February and March because the wife's not happy with the non-stop games in April (and hopefully beyond).

With Butler out 6-8 weeks as well, the season's over.

What a bummer...maybe this will allow the Wizards to assess what they have on the bench and get ready for next year.
I do think their bench is minimal. Time to realize Hayes is not the same player he was 3 years ago. Haywood and Thomas are both marginal, so go get a center (I know, most teams need that). They have one okay reserve guard in Daniels. They had a chance to get that pt guard from Kentucky Rondo last year but they went with the foreign guy -- who may be a good player in 2-3 years. Screw that, get a guy that helps you now. Blatche will be good, when he finally grows whiskers. Boothe, Mason and Ruffin are all 12th men on the bench.
If they could trade Jamison for a big PF, I'd do that. Maybe we try to get Brand for him, I know, the Clips aren't dumb. Assuming they keep their big 4 of Stevenson, Arenas, Jamison and Butler - that ain't a bad start.

I became an OSU fan for the purpose of rooting against Florida but I've not followed them much aside from that. As for Oden, I don't see enough incentive for him to stay, OSU's team isn't that spectacular aside from him, I think he'll jump to the pros.
You are a Pistons fan? Yuck ... I am a Cavaliers fan

I like all the Detroit teams first in every sport except football. I don't think I have to explain why I was "in play" for a new favorite team over the Lions when I moved to the DC area the magical year of 1981. The Skins were already my second favorite team.
But I don't hate the Cavs. We had a heck of a series last year. I think the odds are pretty good of going it again, this year, but in the conference finals this time. I'm just hoping you get Miami in the second rounds so you can pound each other before we face you. I think that's why we lost to Miami last year, it's what you did to us.
