... i dont know about you guys but i would be ALL OVER THAT .. and am really hoping something along those lines gets done..the fact that we could possibly get our 2nd and 3rd round picks back still have a 1st round pick and on top of that get Bly who is almost 3 years younger then springs and has a knack for creating turnovers and doesnt possess the injury problems

maybe the redskins are finally taking teams for there draft picks!

I was reading that scenario in the Post today and just can't figure out why Denver would be willing to give away so much. Is there somebody that they want really badly at the 6th spot?

I also think that the Broncos are too smart to make that trade. I looked up some Denver sports media websites and there is no mention if a trade being likely. They only say that Bly wants out, and there's no mention of the Broncos considering what the Washinton Post suggests.

I respect that research. It means a lot that all the speculation is on our side not theirs

good research.. i hate to hear that though means its alot less likely to happen which kinda dissapoints me.. we could use the additional picks

I don't get the facination with Bly. Improve the pass rush, and the db's immediately improve, as well. Our need is a D lineman. The 3 best won't be there at 21.

I don't have any use for a player who pulls this "I don't want to play for you, unless you renegotiate my contract" crap, as Bly has in Denver.

I don't know that I necessarily want Bly, especially given the way he is trying to force the Broncos hand. I do like the idea of having more draft picks, and if we were to pick up Bly, particularly without losing Springs, we could have an excellent secondary. Sure, he's no Champ Bailey, but who is?

Football is the one sport that I can't necessarily blame guys for trying to get all they can get. They are always the next play away from being finished with football or even walking. Their contracts are not guaranteed so they should try to get what they can. It's up to the owners whether or not to pay it. Now, some owners like our's have a tendency of paying too much and get nothing in return but it looks like Snyder is slowly starting to get it.

Do the deal only if you can get the contract stuff out of the way with Bly first. Finding a DE in the first round at #21 won't be hard. The top 2-3 may be gone by the time #21 comes around or maybe not.

It really depends on the answer to: "Will P.Daniels and A.Carter get it done for us? I doubt it." Draft Gaines or Branch forget the 2nd & 3rd

Lets not forget that we may be able to get these same picks from teams that want Brady Quinn if he falls to us.

Thats why we need to wait and let this play out. There may be a more lucrative move for us during draft day.

The funny thing about the draft is that the top 2-3 DEs going into Game 7 of the season could've been drafted in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. It's really a crap shoot these days with guys from LB to DL. And for us, it was a crap shoot with CB too, look at Rogers...

I say 'piss or get off the pot' with Bly and move on so that we can be all set going into camp where the real players and the real work is done.

That would be one reason to make the trade. To avoid that dumb idea. No WR should ever be taken in the top ten. You have about a 90% chance they will be a flop and even less they would be a difference maker worth a top ten pick.

As far as the trade value goes, if the Broncos did give up their 1st, 2nd, & 3rd and Bly for the Skins ist then the Broncos are saying Bly, at 30, not wanting to be there, is worth the first pick in the 3rd round. A fair trade, not lopsided either way.

Of course this is just speculation, because we all know (except SF55) the Broncos will get over on us, someway.

I agree with this, trading down for a 1,2,3 and Bly for Springs and our 1st would be ideal. A month or two ago people would have been jumping for joy over this prospect because our depth is so bad, our roster is so loaded with costly and fragile vets, and the team is aging overall, and therefore we need the picks. The only problem is our draft record is so bad with Cerrato et al it's hard to believe he won't just blow the picks on busts like he has most of our recent year draft picks.

Our draft record isn't bad with cerrato. Agreed bad in the sense we never have many picks but the picks we have made I totally disagree. Taylor and ey in round 1 and 2. Campbell we all like so far. Verdict is still out on rogers and rocky. We all love the late round golston pick. Dockery. Many teams have had more flops than we have.
