Dre Bly wants to be a Skin

Dre' Bly reportedly wants to play for the Redskins, and could force a trade from Denver.
Bly and Washington were negotiating a contract when it looked like he might be traded to Washington. Denver coach Mike Shanahan reportedly likes Shawn Springs and Ladell Betts, so there is a chance trade talks will resume. Bly reportedly agreed to terms on a new deal with Denver, but nothing has been signed.

I heard him hear on the radio @ the UNC vs Duke game, talking about how he couldn't talk about the trade and free agency, may be he does want out already.

Dre' Bly wants to be a Skin? That's What I Hear
Numerous league sources, including several who have spoken with Denver cornerback Dre' Bly, said that the player is miffed that he was dealt to the Broncos last week instead of Washington. As I have reported, the Redskins were deep into trade and subsequent contract talks with Bly - a Detroit Lion at the time - and were dangling cornerback Shawn Springs in discussions with those teams.
Springs was coveted by Detroit and Denver, and very open to the possibility of a trade, but the Redskins could not match Denver's offer of two players and a draft pick (the Redskins had no suitable picks in the 2007 draft) and the Lions sent him to the Broncos instead. Once it was clear Bly was going to Denver, the Redskins tried to work out a swap with them, but according to a source, the Redskins asked for cap help deferring the costs of trading Springs ($7.5 million) and Denver refuses (the Broncos did not have a ton of space, either).
However, the Broncos have been unwilling to extend Bly's contract, which has one year and $4.2 million remaining. Bly has told numerous other NFL players that Redskins owner Daniel Snyder, in the course of trade talks, was willing to give Bly a new contract including a lucrative signing bonus, and Bly has expressed his concern with remaining a Bronco with several of his new teammates in Denver. He's from Chesapeake, VA, wants to be here and wants that new contract. His agent, Kennard McGuire, initially declined to comment on the matter.
Springs, meantime, has ties to the staffs of both Denver and Detroit, and has said he will not take a pay cut to remain a Redskin this season (he is due to make $6.8 million and carries a high $7.3 million cap figure, which the Redskins have been eager to trim). The team approached Springs about taking a salary cut to remain here earlier this offseason, and he refused; his cap figures are huge each of the next three seasons and some team officials have expressed concerns about his age and injury history.
Sources close to Springs say he remains unsure about his status with the Redskins despite Coach Joe Gibbs saying repeated that he is "counting on Springs" for next season. Denver Coach Mike Shanahan is a big proponent of Springs's play, according to a source, and the Broncos and Redskins have completed trades in each of the past three years and are among the most aggressive teams in the NFL when it comes to swapping players. The Redskins remain very interested in dropping down from the sixth overall pick to acquire additional selections in this year's draft, and the possibility exists of another deal this offseason involving the cornerbacks and/or draft picks.
A trade after June 1 would cost the Redskins just $2.5 million in a cap hit on Springs (with $5 million coming in 2008). Springs is also considering approaching the Redskins about possibility relinquishing several million dollars in deferred payments still owed him in order to facilitate his possible trade or release. Many members of the Redskins staff are thrilled with the possibility of a cornerback trio of Springs, free-agent signing Fred Smoot and youngster Carlos Rogers, but should Bly attempt to force his way out of Denver, the situation bears monitoring, with the huge free agent contracts being thrown around this offseason not going unnoticed by Bly or Springs.
So keep an eye on this one folks. I think there is still a chance for more trade talks to resume. The Broncos are also very high on Ladell Betts, and could make a play in that direction as well as they entertain other RB options. Definitely something I will be monitoring.

There's that pesky Denver team coming into the picture again thinking, "Hey we had an off year, I think it's time to screw that stupid team in Washington. I wonder if they will bite on another lopsided trade?" We better not do anything retarded here! You think we would have learned by now...

We never did something to Denver to force them to continue doing this to us.
They need to stop, this is not cool any more. They need to stop calling Snyder.

Bly should've contemplated retirement and signed with the Skins afterwards, isn't that the new trend

Bly is an overrated player who takes too many chance.
I'd rather have Smoot. I think a trio at corner of Rogers, Smoot, Springs should be absolutely fine if they can all stay healthy.

This is the NFL - injuries are a part of the game and some guys have more of a chance at being lost for part of the season than others - guess who? next question is "who do you think might not be available to start every game?" now, if that is the case - "why are we paying that guy a lot of money to play here?"
We might be needing more than just 2 guys to play CB IMHO

This trade possibility has all the makings of ruining a safe but effective offseason so far. I don't see Bly as much of a difference maker, and I hope they don't trade, especially with denver...

We'll still have two CB that know the system and have played in it.

Is Carlos Rogers not supposed to have taken care of business at this point?
I guess he has not and if the trade goes on, the staff would be sending a signal that they are not sure whether Carlos ever will.
Vilma would have been a better pick in that draft by a long shot. To be fair, Rogers looked as a good pick on paper and college video at the time.

You have to hand it to Denver. They put themselves in position every year to steal draft picks from us. They'll have a good laugh this year at the draft everytime they look at that FROM WASHINGTON pick and think about TJ Duckett.
btw I hear what you guys are saying about "we don't need Bly". But it does sound like this thing with Springs might come to a head and we will in fact need Dre Bly.

This situation has the makings of a real "pickle" and it looks to me like there is something going on behind closed doors. Springs is really that adamant about not restructuring his deal? And conveniently, Denver does not want to offer Bly another deal past the one he has plus he publicly wants to be a Redskin.
(theme from the X-Files playing in my head)....Something sounds fishy because both of these guys appear to be forcing the hand of their respective teams. Now, here's what we don't know: how much more or less would Springs make in Denver if he were to go there? If there was some way to facilitate the deal, Denver is willing to pony up money for a CB that has been hurt the pass two seasons???
Champ is a beast and obviously the killing of their other CB this off-season has left a void in their secondary but enough to want Springs, his age, injuries and salary????
I think that he is best suited here in DC now that we have "Captain" Smoot back (pun intended) and a supposedly seasoned MLB in Fletcher-Baker.
It seems like just when we appear to be getting ourselves going in the right direction with personnel, we get knocked off the road. This team is close and if Springs would restructure, get healthy and stay, we are right there if we can get our coaches on the same page and they actually coach the talent we got.

Right draft but when you are scouting players you can't assume or predict they are going to take steroids. Chargers got lucky. On the other hand, Demarcus Ware would have been nice.

IM NOT GOING TO BASH ROGERS OR THE SKINS FOR DRAFTING HIM. ALTHOUGH I'LL ADMIT HE HAS A LONG WAYS TO GO TO LIVE UP TO HIS DRAFT HYPE. ALL THESE OTHER PLAYERS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE NOW, BUT WE HAD ARRINGTON, MARSHALL, AND WASHINGTON. WHY WOULD WE HAVE EVEN LOOKED AT LBS THEN....WE WENT W/ WHAT WE NEEDED.
