Jake the Snake...

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

PLUMMER RETIRED!!!!!!!

NFL Network's Adam Shefter reports that Jake Plummer has decided to retire in lieu of being traded to the Bucs.

Maybe Mike Shanahan should have treated him better. Denver now loses the fourth-round pick they would have picked up. Plummer never seemed like someone who "needed" football, but he's only 33 and could always re-consider in the future. Chris Simms can breathe a little easier. While the Bucs will find a veteran quarterback, he's unlikely to be as good as Plummer.

Earlier today, it had been reported that the Broncos agreed to terms on a trade that would send Plummer to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick. That trade is expected to be nullified due to Plummer's decision to retire.

Plummer has played 10 seasons in the NFL. A second-round draft pick of the Arizona Cardinals in 1997, he played six seasons in Arizona before signing with Denver in 2003. He led the Broncos to the 2005 AFC Championship Game, but was replaced as the starter late in the 2006 season by rookie Jay Cutler.

Yahoo has a "breaking news" confirming Pornstache's retirement due to the Bucs not naming him the starter initially.

Tampa must feel insulted.

Man, the guy only played 10 years. Looking back on it I can't even believe it's been that long.
