And plays a position that we don't have a need for in an off season where we have too many holes to fill.

I personally think that we should get
every single player available in free agency.
... and I think we should start a thread for every one of those players that says, 'Should the Redskins sign _______ ?
Considering salary cap, our existing roster, and/or our existing team needs is optional...

At 6-3 and 250lbs. I wonder if he would be able to play MLB. I think that Joey Porter would bring something that our D has been missing for a few years and that is someone with attitude.
He has been playing in 3-4 system, maybe this is something that Greg Williams would consider. Those of you who say he does not fit into our system forget to remember that our system last year was terrible. We need to look at all options in order to get things going again. The system that is currently in place is going to change, to what I have no idea what the coaches are planning, but it has to change.

So we set the system back even further buy asking a LB who does not know the system and would be playing out of position? Not only would he not know where to go, he'd have to no where to place everyone else.
No..., I"m sorry but this makes absolutely no sense. We're looking to get the systen back on track, not start from scratch.

The thinking here is, we can't find players to fit our system. Why not find players and use their system
Gregg Williams will prove again that 1 of those Gs has to stand for genius

It's offseason and start of FA. what else you going to talk about? Excuse me for makeing conversation.
I was thinking he could be a beast at MLB. Maybe we can cheat. Have him at MLB but OLB make the Calls. Is their a rule the MLB has to make the Calls?
BTW, y hasn't there been any news, who has signed who? Im all waiting to see and FA has started but there is no news.

I am not so sure that this is the case. I think we may be rebuilding the system from the ground up. We have a few young players on D but mostly guys who are up there in age. I think Greg is looking to keep a few core guys and the rest will be replaced over the next two years. Out of the eleven guys on D I feel only Sean Taylor, Marcus Washington, Rocky McIntosh and Carlos Rodgers are the only player that will not be replaced. If he can stay healthy maybe CorneliusGriffin and if he continues to improve Andre Carter.

Vikings guard Jason Whittle signed with the Bills. Nothing else has happened.

Realistic moves. Nobody will stop you from making a thread that follows the rules but you still have to understand that people may not agree with it.

No but what you're doing is too much. You want to...
1. Convert a LB.
2. Have a LB who cannot see the entire offense as well at times and is not in the center of the field where everyone can hear him make the calls.
3. Have a LB play out of position with unknown results.

The Skins are being intelligent this year.

Supposedly Lavar is going to get cut from the Giants. The rumour supposedly originates from Pft.com....so take it with a grain of salt.
THAT BEING SAID!!! Let the RESIGN LAVAR DISCUSSION BEGIN. x infinity

Hey, I do like the Idea of having two hard hitters on D though.

You're getting opinions and what everyone thinks, you put it out there like it was something you wanted to happen. Had you added the info that's in this post you might not be so defensive now.
I guess the general opinion is Porter is a 3-4 linebacker and wouldn't fit here. I agree whit that opinon. Would he be worth looking at if the Redskins ran a 3-4 is a different question and my opinion might be different.

I'm pretty sure our LB corps this fall will be London Fletcher-Baker in the middle with Marcus and Rocky flanking him. I'm more concerned with the DL and CBs.
