Stallworth???

I was really surprised to see Washington listed as one of three possible landing spots for UFA Donte Stallworth.

Speedster might be hounded always by injuries and inconsistency, but it's hard to overlook his big-play potential or the fact he has scored once every 8.3 receptions over the course of his career.
Possible landing spot: Tennessee, San Francisco, Washington.
Seems kind of out of left field to me!
And after reading John Clayton's analysis I'm kind of resigned to (and bummed about) the fact that we're going to lose Dockery.

I have been monitoring ESPN and I predict that the Redskins will sign every single free agent available.

Agents always say that we are interested. Teams know we overpay so agents hope by throwing our name in there that their offers will be higher.
We are not in the market for a WR.

Right on the money, agent mentioning the skins means other teams have to go over the top

It will be interesting to see how much he gets for playing 8 games a year.

NO, he's another WR that's inconsistent and less than 6' tall...we already have a couple of those...

dollars to doughnuts we sign Joe Horn by 12:03 AM Friday morning. Whilst the Danny is at it I believe he will sign Joey Porter by 12:05 and Fred Smoot by 12:06.

Every agent in the NFL either implies or outright states that the Redskins are trying to sign his guy. It is just a tactic to drive up his clients salary potential since the Redskins have a reputation for chasing and overpaying over-the-hill players. I would not put much faith in those statements.

...speaking of over the hill players how can any true redskins fan who has seen the path this team has been down the last 6 years or so actually be interested in bringing in a strahan? or even fletcher for that matter?i can understand flethcer to some regard but truthfully why bring in a 31 year old linebacker who will only be servicable a couple years.. he is not an elite linebacker and he will not make a measurable diffence on the D over marshall .. be wise and put the money elsewhere if we are going to spend as always in FA

I get your gripe with Strahan but what have you seen from LFB that says he will only be servicable for a few years? He had his best year last year and WOULD be a huge upgrade over Marshall for the simple fact that Marshall can then be used elsewhere (in a more fiting role OLB). Age can't really be used considering Marshall is only about a year and a half younger.

Based on ESPN's past coverage... it fits... but they only have us signing one guy out of the top 30 with Stallworth securely in the maybe column because other teams are listed. That seems pretty reasonable to me, after D-Line (easily fixed via draft with all the depth) WR and MLB are our biggest problems.
