Consider Patrick Willis!

I know we need help desperatley at Dline. But consider this if we trade down with some team and get a lower first rounder and Gaines and Jamal A. are gone then why not Patrick Willis. Patrick Willis is probably the best defensive player on the board. A true playmaker well help against the run and can cover. I truely believe taking a D end is a bit of a gamble. With Willis its bonified stud. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IqadSMQ ... ed&search=

His stock already dropped from senior bowl. He has a hard time shedding blocks and missed tackles.

I like Adam Carriker as well. He is 6-6 290lbs and very quick runs a 4.8 40yd dash. Outstanding player.

Heres what I think. If we trade down for a latter first rounder and aquire a second round pick as well. Then hey we may be able to get either Willis/Carrirker/ or Okoye in the first round. And maybe whoever wasnt picked in the first round may be available if our second round pick is pretty high as well.

We would benefit by trading down with a team who is in the top of list for draft position.

I agree hero. I think that our needs are more than the value for our #6 pick

I have to say I disagree. We traded up last year to get a lb now you want us to trade down to pick up another. Our main difference in reasoning is that I think Marshall can get the job done if he has a revamped line. I think that line needs to include a stud from the #6 pick. I think Patrick Willis is definitely not the answer. What I am really hoping for is this: Peterson or Johnson falls to us, we trade the pick and drop back just a few spots (2 or 3) and acquire a third rounder from it. So we can get whoever is leftover from adams anderson branch and then pick up a player like david harris in the third. Wishful thinking though

What I was saying is that we have several needs. By trading down, we can sure up two of those needs with quality impact players from one pick. Do I want us to just throw it away? No but I think that we have a need at several positions and if you can still grab quality players later in the 1st round, guys you feel like are impact players, then you have to make the trade.

I definitely see what you are saying. My only objection is that grabbing a stud d lineman at the pick we are at now can make everyone better. We all agree d line play is our main concern and I just want to take care of that by any means necessary

Hey some mock draft boards have Adam Carriker as high as no.15 . I would not mind trading down and picking him up at all. He is outstanding against the run and also is massive for a D end geez is he huge and smart. I sure would not mind picking him up. I do worry that he might be gone within the top twenty picks. I hope our front office has a list of studs and potential picks ready to go. Gibbs was able to pick up Manley and Mann in the past I hope he can get us some more Dline Studs.
