Report: Vegas police seeking Pacman By Terry McCormick,
tmccormick@nashvillecitypaper.comFebruary 20, 2007
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s web site, Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones is being sought by Las Vegas police who want to speak to him about a triple shooting at the Minxx Gentleman’s Club.
The story credited “an NFL source” with the information.
According to the story, sources said Jones was with a number of celebrities, including rapper Nelly and music producer Jermaine Dupri, who is singer Janet Jackson’s boyfriend, at the strip club for a private event named Harlem Knights, when the shooting allegedly took place around 5 a.m. local time.
The NBA All-Star Weekend was held in Las Vegas, bringing a number of additional celebrities to the city.
The story went on to say that Steve Cofield, a Las Vegas sports talk show host, reported that Jones was with a group that opened fire after leaving the club.
It was reported that two security guards were among the three people injured.
The City Paper reached Jones’ agent Michael Huyghue late Monday night, and Huyghue said he had no knowledge of Jones’ involvement in any incident. He also said he had not spoken with his client in about a week. Efforts to reach Jones were unsuccessful.
The Las Vegas Police Department could not be reached for comment Monday night. Titans coach Jeff Fisher was not available for comment.
Jones, the Titans first-round draft pick in 2005, has had his share of off-field incidents since being drafted by the Titans. He is currently within a six-month window where he needs to stay free from any arrests in order to be exonerated of public drunkenness and disorderly conduct charges stemming from an incident last August in Murfreesboro. Jones has to stay clean until August 2007 in order to comply with the terms of that agreement.

I live in WV now, moved from MD 13 years ago -- I'm beginning to understand how WVU and their average (bordering on lousy) facilities can get a top 10 football team together...
1) Pacman
2) Chris Henry
3) Pat Lazear -- A senior at Wheaton HS in MD who got caught robbing a store there. All other "big" D1's dropped away, including my alma mater, University of Md, WVU signed him last week.
It's a pattern that makes it clear to me that the big shots at WVU care about $$$$'s and not their reputation.
Really sad. I know that Md was there many years ago, Fridge doesn't go for that and I appreciate it. As a supporter of their program, I want it that way...maybe make the top 20 but always retain a good reputation. It's a college, not a semi-pro team!
Thank goodness we got Rogers instead of Pacman..sure Gibbs wouldn't want him anyway.

There's at least
one poster on this site who'd argue that with you.

Do you just ignore the news altogether?
The guy has earned his own tag, he is NOT someone you want on your team.

This guy deserves his time to show that this is all BS - BUT.... if
any of this stuff (that is being "reported") is close to the facts then this guy will hopefully be sent to some place where he can play some prison football in the daytime and get to know Bubba every night!

You're right I would clearly cut Rogers over Pacman. If you had them both and loved Pacman you'd still have to hold on to Rogers just in case Pacman can't find a Judge to set his bail late on a Sat. night/Sun. morning.

Well, I have lived in WV most of my life and am not only an Alum of WVU but have been going to Football games there since I was a kid.
You can take your holier than thou attitude and go straight back to Byrd Stadium. Every program has some bad apples with few exceptions, the problem is that unlike Turtle football many players from WVU make it to the NFL. Adam didn't have much trouble in college, it's when he got to the pro's and started making gobbs of money where charachter flaws begin to show. What about all the players who have made it to the NFL and been successful w/o off field incidents since your "WV tenure"? I know Marc Bulger personally, use to hang with him through the same group of friends when we were at WVU, and he is not exactly on the FBI's wanted list is he?
How about:
Anthony Becht
Kay-Jay Harris
Mike Logan
Rasheed Marshall
Amos Zeroue
Jerry Porter
John Thorton
Mike Vanderjagt- tool but not a felon
Quincy Wilson
Aaron Beasley
Jeff Hostetler
James Jett
Adrian Murrell
And our own Sam Huff!
What I am trying to say is that to generalize and say that the WVU program is somehow targeting or recruiting differently than any other Div I football program is nonsense. The fact that they are perenially a top 25 team located in the middle of nowhere, in a state with no proffessional team of any sport and a very small pool of prep atheletes which to recruit from is a testament to their coaches and must be hard for you to grasp. They have to go out of the state to get players. WV has a smaller population than Montgomery County!
Also, have you ever been to the football facilities at WVU? They are far from average buddy, you might want to peek at your home teams facilities again before you get into that argument. In fact WVU has one of the better sports complexes of any university I have been to. They have to, how else could they recruit with their location? Morgantown is a hole, although it has gotten much better since I graduated.
LOL...justify the twerps any way you have too but don't hate on WVU b/c they do well with what they can get.
LETS GO........................................................................MOUNTAINEERS!

Oops. Which University had top 15 picks the past 2 years?
The Terps have had a very successful time transitioning players to the pros. It's actually kind of surprising how many Terps are in the NFL.

You seriously would want Pac Man Jones on the Redskins...
Man, to me that's just sad.

Say what you might, Pacman is way deep underneath, all false allegations, exaggerations, lies and legal misrepresentations aside, the perfect Joe Gibbs type of guy.
Take it or leave it. A part-time bookie/used-car salesman hired to testify in his next legal defense case told me so in Vegas and I believe it wholeheartedly.

They're trying to get a 3rd rounder for him, If thay can't get one in the next week or so he'll be gone. Then they'll blame everything on the former GM, and have no further comment.

I think its funny how they are thinking of suspending Pacman for the year, but there not doing anything to Chris Henrey who has been in even more off the field trouble than Pacman Jones.

I think that they both need to go but the difference is that Pacman held vital information from the Titans. Any time a player is arrested they are required to report it to the team, Pacman failed to do so.

Hopefully because of the attention that is happening right now from both the players and the NFL - both these guys get hit with big time supensions.
they have demonstrated that they think they are different and I hope they get put right up on the pedestal of 1 year or more

It's not 100% their fault when the judicial system treats them differently.

I understand Chris - it's just that I believe the new NFL commish. is going to use these 2 guys as a means to show that he and the owners/teams are going to be very severe in controlling the NFL image - this also is happening with the players' support.
I think it has been fairly obvious recently that some players were just getting out of hand and now I am hoping that the NFL really comes down hard on these guys' NFL careers because, IMO, they both deserve everything they get - that is unfortunately not going to happen in a court of law but there is a very good chance that the NFL will make things really bad for these guys. These are not the type of guys that the NFL needs and they should be made an example of.
I would love it if they kicked them out of the game but I am probably not going to see that.
