Just wonder if when Joe retires, Any chance Dan will want Bill. Just because we have 2 possible replacements, Bill has more to offer.

There are clauses in both of our Coord's contract that states that if they are not deemed the next head coach of the Washington Redskins, they are due a bonus of I think 1million dollars. But its only money to Dan.

Defensive Co-ordinator Greg Blache might make a good coach but I don't think he has anything in his contract that gives him anything if not hired thoght and I know Offensive Co-ordinator Don Breaux has nothing like that either.

Cowher is going to be on the list for every head coaching position available next year. Of course Snyder would want him.

My question is why in the world would Cowher ever take a job here? 1) He is good friends with Marty who would clearly advise him against it. and 2) He just spent 15 years or whatever coaching for a stable, well run and managed organization (basically the anti-Redskins).

Obscene amounts of money aside, coaching the Redskins has to be about as attractive as coaching the Cardinals at this point.

My imagination can easily concoct a scenario where Phillips has a crappy year in Dallas, and gets fired. The very thought of Jerry Jones hiring Cowher to coach the Cowboys would send Danny into a rage of furious activity to stop it from happening. I reckon he'd pay Cowher NOT to go to Dallas, and then sign him up for the Redskins to replace Gibbs at the end of his contract.

1) Obscene amounts of money is generally a pretty good reason. Coaches, like players, like to get paid. Especially successful coaches like Cowher.

2) I think Snyder is learning; at the very least, as a smart business man, he knows he has to keep the team winning to keep the fans coming to the games, buying jerseys, etc. Fans tolerate the money-grubbing only as long as the team is generating excitement. Notice that ticket prices have only been raised after playoff seasons. If Snyder wants to increase prices in the future, he likely knows he has to have a winning team on the field. 5-11 teams don't fuel the money machine for long.

do you really think the ownership and GM will be that sympathetic? all teams get injuries its part of the game. this year the panthers underachieved, not a sign of a good coach

Fox is a good coach. Cower however is a Great Coach. My choice is either Cower, or Fischer from Tennesse. Nuff said. But Even Fox is a Better Coaching choice than either Wade Phillips, or Norv Turner. But it could be worse. Snyder could hire Barry Switzer.

Pretzel boy will offer him the same position and $ as Gibbs. Team President/Head Coach etc.

I think Cower will like the total control aspect....the money ain't bad eaither.
