Likewise, the Steelers didn't break their bank to keep Randle El, instead drafting Santonio Holmes, who caught more passes and posted a better punt return average than Randle El did in Washington.

The Redskins not only sought Randle El, they also traded for San Francisco's leading receiver, Brandon Lloyd. With Lloyd catching all of 23 passes, none for a touchdown, the Redskins won fewer games, the 49ers won more.

Didn't Santonio Holmes also have fumble problems that plagued him all season?

Not that I disagree with the idea of shopping for bargain WRs... I'm just saying...

In the grand scheme, wide receivers don't matter as much as wide receivers think they do.

True, in my opinion.

Nice to see another article that doesn't miss the opportunity for a cheap shot at the Redskins as well.

To be fair, the article takes a shot at a lot of teams, not just the Redskins. I think the guy has a point though.

Wasn't Holmes the number 2 receiver whereas ARE was the 3rd receiver?
