Congratulations guys - now for
"the game within the game" - this is a lot more fun
lets see:
The HHC:
4. Justice Hog
at
1. Hoss
3. joebagadonuts
at
2. funbunch
The DHC:
4. JPM36
at
1. air_hog
3. Redskin in Canada

2. JSPB22
I predict:
Justice pulls the upset at the very noisy
Hoss house
joebagadonuts is still "the man" against
funbunchair_hog has been very tough all year and finished very well
Redskin in Canada is a very slippery slope for
JSPB22 who is too distracted by the "dishes" selected by our resident somelier
Oh! and the games:
Indianapolis Colts (13-4) at Baltimore Ravens (13-3)
Philadelphia Eagles (11-6) at New Orleans Saints (10-6)
Seattle Seahawks (10-7) at Chicago Bears (13-3)
New England Patriots (13-4) at San Diego Chargers (14-2)
Colts = 42
Saints = 38 (what was I thinking

)
Bears = 34
Chargers = 49
all the best this weekend guys - great hognosticating all year!

Hopefully, you hognosticate as well in the post-season as you did in the regular season.

Oh you just had to remind me

, thanks JSPB22
I am enjoying the "playoffs and will be hoping to be there next year. I really am going to have to step it up a bunch though - you guys were not just very good but consistently good and that was a credit to all who are in these playoffs!

I'm sure I don't know what you are talking about.

Perhaps, it would not be entirely inappropriate that we clarify the tie breaks based on scores. Who wins?
1) The Hognosticator with the fewest overall difference in points added up from all four games? or
2) The Hognosticator that wins more games based on individual tie breaks? or
3) The Hognosticator that sets the rules?
So, equal or less than 164 total points, you win. Similarly, 165 total points or more, I win. Let's run up the scores on all losing (and winning) teams regardless of the outcome!

RiC

allright RiC - way to establish the ground rules - "bring that "home field" advantage over to my sandbox and I'll show you how to ......"
oh boy! ....."And in the red corner ......"
this is going to be fun

You have the over. I have the under. Last weekend the teams scored 168 points. I just think we are going to see better defense this week.

I obviously think not.
The defenses (or incompetent offenses) had their day over the last weekend.
It is time for the offenses to establish themselves and set the tone towards the final games.
By the way, I knew you were going to play the under. So, I really wanted you to think about it.

Defense wins championships. I'm sure you thought you were all in my head, but if you had not picked those four teams, I would have gone for the knockout. As it was, I'd have been foolish not to have maximized my winning potential by nestling myself snugly to the soft underbelly of your bloated point-total hognostications.

I fully expect to ungracefully bow out of the HBII playoffs with these picks:
Colts, 36
Chargers, 34
Saints, 41
Bears, 27

I expect there will be at least one upset this weekend, so you may not be in too bad shape... unless you picked the wrong one.
With jbd's picks, all visitors have now arrived, the home teams need to have their picks in by Friday night.

Too bad SEVEN of those EIGHT teams will not win a championship this year.
I like those who have the -courage- to pick an upset at this stage. I am not one of them.
I suspect that the visiting team that has the best chance to create an upset is Indy. Who knows. I just think that the Ravens defense will get in Peyton's head. But he can also take the monkey off his back. Who knows?

After some rest and a great 2 weeks of practice I am ready to submit the hognostications that will take me to the
HHC Divisional Championship game held at Hoss's Stadium.
Ravens 44
SAINTS 42
Bears 34
Chargers 42
Looks like Justice will know Saturday night that his Super Bowl dreams have been shattered! Well there is always next year.

Now that the countdown is here - I must admit that I really think the Ravens are going to win this game - as I am not in any contest, I feel that I am within my rights (there are no rights!) as a resident of the "low life of hognosticators" for the year 2006 - so I am changing my picks
SkinsJock wrote:Colts = 42

I think that there will be a huge home field advantage to both the Ravens and the Saints this weekend. The Ravens defense will smother the Colts and the Saints will handle Garcia while Bush shows just how valuable he is to any team.
The Chargers are just too good even with Rivers as a bit of a concern.
The Seahawks should never have allowed the key to their running game to go to the Vikings (Alexander is good but he is not nearly as good as he was with Hutchison)
Ravens = 38
Saints = 38
Bears = 34
Chargers = 49

First Quarter:
air-hog and jbd jump out to large first quarter leads over JPM and funbunch, respectively, but there is still plenty of game left, and nobody is out yet. Justice kicked a field goal and is up by 3 over Hoss, but the second quarter is going to decide this contest. RiC got a lesson in defense Vs. Championships, and I gained 20 points of breathing room in a 15-6 FG-fest, as the colts continued to spurn the town that spawned them.
Second Quarter:
Hoss showed why he's the champ, and steamrolled over Justice in the second quarter, building an insurmountable lead (think SB XXII). Funbunch, having been so badly embarrassed in the first half, refuses to even take the field for the second, sending joebagadonuts on to meet Hoss in the HHC Championship Game. JPM came storming back, reversing his fortunes against air_hog. This contest is going down to the wire! And RiC narrowed the gap to ten, but still has a tall mountain to climb, needing 93 points in the second half to complete his comeback bid... Not gonna happen!
