We're at 27! From reading the posts here you would think we would be at 37! Chill out guys! After all it could be worse! And get this! They wonder about Al Saunders offense coming around!

It will be interesting to see if anything happens with Al Saunders in Washington this offseason. His offense was supposed to turn the Redksins into a scoring machine -- instead the Redskins scored just 19.2 points per game.

They also wonder if Al will be here next year!

Doesn't make sense to me either, but at least they don't have us worse then the Cardinals.......or especially the Raiders!

I think it's pretty fair. I'm optimistic for next year given our progress late in the year, but you have to win more then 5 games to deserve respect from outside.

By the by, the Chiefs averaged 20 points per game in Saunders first year, which, in aggregate, is a difference of about two touchdowns. Couple of plays here and there work differently and the Redskins put up exactly the same average. But why would the folks at ESPN bother to do any research?
Also, I assume you are kidding about being ranked 37th

Didn't he average 20 points with the Rams in his first year as well? I could have sworn he did! And of course I was just kidding about being ranked 37th! I mean, not even the Cowboys were ranked that low when they went 1-15! Or the Raiders this year! You just get that impression from reading the posts around here right now! Especially my new favorite......."There is no hope" one!

All I was trying to say is we're not that bad!

I'm concerned about Saunders leaving b/c of all of the HC job openings. I mean how many of these guys are actually going to be HC's at other places. Maybee Jim Mora Jr. thats about it.

I hope Al sticks around... actually I hope everyone offensively sticks around and gives JC some stablitlity. If he is as good as he is switching systems every year imagine the possiblities in year 2.

you do realize there are only 32 teams in the NFL, don't you?

when you're ranked 27th, it means you are rubbing elbows with oakland, detroit, and arizona. it means you are the laughingstock of the league, the team that everyone can't wait to play when they look at their schedule.

now, if gibbs and co. can somehow actually learn from the colossal, team-crushing mistakes it made last offseason, there is hope. the offense seems promising heading into next year. maybe if we get good enough, we'll pick up the 1st down and score a TD and gibbs won't have a chance to sabotage the team by ordering another cowardly field goal on 4th and 2 when down by 3 scores.

or maybe if they find a way to upgrade the defense from "pathetic joke" to even "mediocre" or god-willing even "average", we won't be down by 3 scores in the 1st place so a FG won't be so bad.

Of course he knows that. Your sarcasm detector's busted, may want to check into that.

ROTFALMAO SO ANGRY!!!

And you wonder why I think our ratings would be at 37 and then happy to see that they're not!

You need to relax some! You do realize that the world hasn't come to an end don't you?

I hope other teams do look past us! Thats what the Saints did this past year and we beat them! Thats what the Cowboys did two years ago and we embarrassed them! I would love for other teams to look past us next year!

Kicking a field goal on 4th and 2!??!?!?!? Dude, our offense has come around! This past game Gibbs went for it on 4th and 4 when down by three scores! Just to refresh your memory..........

The Redskins' second-half comeback got started on a key 4th-and-4 play at the Giants' 7-yard line. Trailing 27-7, the Redskins had driven downfield on an impressive drive. Jason Campbell dropped back to pass and looked to the left. His first two options were not open, so he scrambled to the right and found Betts at the goal line for a 7-yard touchdown pass.

The momentum of the game shifted after that play!

I'm not worried about the defense. Williams is coaching it and he'll figure it out! You do know that Williams had one of the leagues best defenses when he was with Tennessee, Buffalo, and with us! He's had only one bad year.........I can give him one bad one! Why can't you?.........On second thought you don't need to answer that!
