I just woke up to my mom telling me that. I just turned on the news and it's true. This is a horrible story that no one wants to hear about. Especially during a holiday. Williams had lots of potential as a football player.
This is a horrible weekend for the Broncos. Not only do they lose out on the playoffs but they lose one of their own.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Willliams. R.I.P. Darrant.

WILLIAMS DIED IN JAVON WALKER'S LAP
A league source tells us that the current talk in team circles is that Broncos cornerback Darrent Williams expired in the lap of receiver Javon Walker after being shot early Monday morning in a limousine.
Williams, we're told, expired instantly. Also in the limousine were linebacker D.J. Williams and receiver Brandon Marshall. Two others who were riding in the vehicle with the Broncos players were shot, but Walker, D.J. Williams, and Marshall were not injured.
Initially, it was feared that Walker also had been shot, but it was determined that the blood on his clothing was from Williams. (We really couldn't think of a more delicate way to report that specific fact, and we continue to feel nauseous about the entire ordeal. We've heard good things about Darrent Williams from members of the media, and our thoughts are with his family.)
We're told that local police have strong leads as to the suspects, and that arrests are expected to come sooner rather than later. Apparently, the bullets were fired by a group of men with whom the Broncos players had squabbled at a New Year's Eve party hosted by one or more members of the Denver Nuggets.
PFT
It is now beening "reported" that D.J. Williams and Brandon Marshall were not in the Limo

Sad indeed, RIP DW.
Was it football related? I don't know why this reminds me of a similar incident in Colombia a couple of years back, after the national team got eliminated from the world cup and an angry fan killed a player who had scored an own goal during the tournament.

RIP DW.
I can't help but be mad at the media for only displaying the pic of him with the mohawk. Why? Why even show that shot at such a time? They couldn't have spent 5 mins to find a nice picture of him during the draft or when he signed with the team? They simply have to find the worst picture to show.
Dont get me wrong but I love the mohawk but why show that now? For those who dont know who he is, it paints a bad picture and its a shame that it may turn people away from it. Maybe Im just crazy.

You're reading waaaaaaaaaay too much into the picture.
It actually isn't that bad a picture.
SI had some game pictures from last Sunday, along with that one, and at no point do I think it tainted his image.
Plus, it was very creative.
Oh yeah, RIP D. Williams

I love it too! I think it rawks! I just felt they could have found something a bit more respectful. He seemed like such a nice guy and I just dont want people to get the wrong idea about him from a wild pic.

Agreed. But there are very few pictures of him sportin' a suit...with the mohawk.
It certainly ain't no FredEx Frohawk picture from a couple years back, and, more importantly, he's recognized by his peers as a member of one of the toughest secondaries in the NFL.
His play and on-field legacy will do more for his cred than a wacky 'do.
