To quote an article in local paper "there is one Redskin who has lived up to his reputation: Snyder. And that may be the saddest statement of all."
All I can add to this is AMEN.

Don't you think it is time for all these people who are banging on Snyder to get a life? While he has made mistakes, he has tried to do whatever is necessary to bring a winning team to Washington. The mistakes were not always his but he has still been there when needed.

I, for one, would rather have an owner like Snyder who is at least willing to spend the $$ to try to improve the team (whether he is successful or not) versus one who is a penny pincher and not willing to spend a dime.

As Master Yoda says,
"There is no try."
As much as you'd like to give him the proverbial 'A for Effort,' you wonder what's going on when the 'try' of 2005 is the same as the 'try' of '04, '03, etc.
They see how the league's successful teams do things and realize they don't want to endure the 2-3 years of struggles it would take to undo what's been done and start down that new path.

Its all about the GM or man at the top. Look at San Diego. They never wanted to spend money and then they got AJ Smith who turned this team around and they are winning. Not to mention he is a hell of a talent evaluator. I say we spend money on a guy like that. I'm sure if we threw the money at a GM like we do at players and Coaches we would be stacked.

It's the same Dan Snyder that jumped all over the idea of having Steve Spurrier as head coach instead of keeping Marty Schottenheimer (excuse my spelling) who got us going to 8-8. Heck we had something going.

We are lucky to have Snyder and very unlucky to have the type of sports reporters and others that write for the local papers. These guys consistently like to fabricate and hype anything they can find that paints our team in a bad light.
We have learned from various articles by media types who are not from this city and openly admitted to begining their search to dig up stuff on Snyder only to find out that he was not at all like he has been portrayed in the local press. I have come to the realization that it is a pack of fabrications and lies. ALL OF IT.
For all the mistakes he made in the past
and admits to, Snyder deserves a lot of credit for what he has done (and not done) lately, and especially for letting Gibbs run this football team. A lot of the recent mistakes here are not Snyder's fault at all and lie with Gibbs and his coaches.
This team is begining to show that it is not as bad as a lot of us thought a few weeks ago and I am very encouraged about the group of players and coaches that we will have here next year. This is a work in progress but we are definetly looking up.

I don't think the article was a put down of Snyder - he has lived up to his reputaion, willing to spend big bucks to improve the team - good for him. I think the writer was saying NO ONE other than Snyder has lived up to their reputation and I agree this is a fair statement for 2006.
