Why does everyone want Jason to be like Doug. Doug played for the Skins for 4 years but was the starting QB for 1 year and played in a total of 21 reqular season games. He only played in 88 games. His TD/INt rtio is 100/93. Heck, Gus "bang the Wall" Frerotte played for the Skins for 5 years and started 3 years and 53 games. He has played 28 more games and has a better TD/INT ratio 96/79. So I hope Jason turns out to be a hell of a lot better than Doug!
Now, the post season is what everyone remembers. Doug played in 7 postseason games (3 - all in 87- for the Skins) and had a 4-3 record. But he did have the best 2nd quarter of any SB QB. One good quarter, no matter how good it is, does not a career make!
Maybe everyone should want him to be like another Skins' #17, Billy Kilmer. He played 8 years for the Skins and he played in 72 games for them. Career wise he played in 170 games and posted a 152/146 TD/INT ratio.
I hope Jason turns out better than both Gus and Billy, and would feel totally disappointed if he turned out to be Doug Williams. You know who Doug Williams is? He is Trent Dilfer, Jeff Hosetler, or Brad Johnson all jurneyman QBs that ended the season the starting QB on fantastic teams and ended up winning a SB. And Doug wasn't even as good as those three.
Please no one else compare Jason to Doug, you might just get what you want!

Remember Doug was a star with Tampa and then in the USFL. He finished his career with the Skins.
And he was SUPER BOWL MVP!
So I pray that Jason emulates Doug and is a Skins Super Bowl MVP. And along the way - I hope he sticks around for 14 seasons.
Great photos - thanks for posting!

He was NEVER a "Star" any where. The guy has a cult following with the Redskins because of his 2nd quarter in SBXXII. Other than that he did nothing in his NFL career. He might have been a good USFL QB, but he is on par with Dilfer and Hofstetler as far as an NFL QB!
I hope Jason far exceeds the play of Doug W.

it doesnt matter though, cuz the playoffs and SB is where it counts most, the guy won games and lead the skins to the superbowl, we're not boasting about his insane numbers and stardom, the guy was a winner. you gotta hope Jason follows his path
