What?! Play Rocky? But he was a high draft pick? Whats next, play Ducket? Then what, actually run the ball up the middle?...madness.

Agreed. I've been screaming for Rocky for some time now. Ever notice that he makes like every tackle on kick coverage?

The whole Macintosh situation makes no sense. Holdman isn't just below average, he is TERRIBLE. If he wasn't here I wonder if he could even get a starting job for another NFL team. He is usually out of position, he can't get off his blocks, he can't tackle, he takes poor angles to the ball, and he can't cover. So what exactly could Rocky do worse?

I dont understand it at all.

We have a young guy who we spent a lot to get and an old guy who is playing terrible football for a defense that is killing us.

Why on earth is the young guy still on the bench???

Even if we were in the thick of the playoff race I'd still be saying get him in there.

It's mind boggling that he's still not playing with us at 3-7 and staring at a top 5-10 draft pick.

Sounds just like our old qb situation, I bet brunell and holdman and archuleta go out for drinks every night and laugh there rear ends off at Gibbs and the sorryskins.

Frankly, I'm still so grateful Brunell's gone, I have a hard time responding with appropriate negatively toward Holdman stilling being on the field.

i bet you this is all about GW's ego. if he starts Rocky and he plays well then he'll feel stupid he diddnt start him from the get-go. just like Gibbs with the QB situation. these coaches should just let go of their egos and let the young guys play

Rocky had a great day today. I don't remember our last blocked punt.

I hope that blocked punt helps catapult him into the Defensive lineup. However the D played excellent today.

True, but you could see Holdman (and Marshall) repeatedly not getting off their blocks to make tackles. If the defensive staff is so impressed with Rocky's ability to get off blocks, and Holdman can't seem to do so, why not give him a try? Could he do much worse?

Holdman sucks. Does anyone have any game stats on this guy? Williams always seems to be impressed by this guy, but I never see him do anything. Much to the contrary, I see Rocky flying all over the place.

Holdman and Marshall are both useless in the run game or on a pass rush. They both need to be replaced, we don't have monstrous d-tackles to keep people off of them. And unlike Marshall, Holdman isn't even that quick either. He shouldn't even smell the field IMO

Holdman should be replaced by Marshall and we should bring in a true MLB in the offseason. Marshall is best suited for the outside, not the middle, and Holdman is best suited for a practice squad.

How deep are our farm teams, the Jets and 49ers, at the MLB and OLB positions?

The Jest have Jonathan Vilma as their MLB. I would love to have him on our team. The guy is a total beast. Unfortunately there is no chance that the Jets are going to let him go anytime soon.

to get Vilma we would have to give up Taylor, or if our draft pick was top ten than maybe that pick. Just draft a MLB. Or I wonder if the Jets would be dump enough to agree to a Carlos Rogers for Vilma trade. doubt it but its worth a try.

I have a couple of questions about Rocky and what they are doing with him:

1. Are they really coaching this kid?

2. Are they too concerned with this kid being in a "scheme" and not utilizing his skill and talent?

3. Is this kid really that bad that we are sacrificing getting gashed on the left side each week to the detriment of the entire team because he is that bad?

4. Is this another case of the arrogance of GW?

The more and more they continue to do things like this, the more and more validity they give to Tom Friend's article. It's like when these guys practice, they have to be in the exact perfect spot (given a literal inch or two) or they don't get to play.

He can be no worse than Holdman...this is just another example of GW's arrogance...he thinks his scheme is soo intricate and outstanding that it takes so long to pick up...man, its footballl...right now Holdman aint gettin 'er done.
