I don't even know if any of the posters here listen to rap, but if anyone has heard any of the album, what do you think?

I am a fan of Hov's, so I'm biased, but curious if anyone has listened to the new album.

I listened to it yesterday. It's not that impressive.

I honestly think Jay-Z is overrated. He has the same tone in every song which gets boring.

I've heard better.

I'm anticipating Mario's new album more.

Plus, he's been too overhyped lately as is his girl Beyonce. (She gets played on the radio just as much as Justin Timberlake which is really annoying.) He has been on every radio station i listen to promoting his album.

For a short time, you can listen to it here:

Do you think his lyrical ability is over rated? Have you listened to Reasonable Doubt, or The Blueprint?

A little bit of both. I don't remember what his lyrics were in those albums. I can't think of any songs that came off of those albums that's how similar his tone is. I'll probably know some songs if you tell me, though.

IMO I thought those weren't two of his better albums. I think some of his best were Life and Times of Sean Carter Vol. 2, The Dynasty and the album that he put out with Linkin Park (although that was more of a blend of his songs and theres not actually making new music) but hey what do I know.

His latest album is growing on me. Its nothing too great imo. I feel that he really has nothin to rap for anymore.

Im waiting for NAS's album, hiphop is dead is fiyah!

Rap is dead. undergroud hip hop is where its at. rap went the way of rock and country. its all pop now controlled by producers that layer the vocals and say, add this add that and it all comes out the same.

This is one ofmy favorite albums. I've liked rap-rock fusion stuff since the Judgment Night soundtrack came out.
