November 3

Philadelphia Daily News -- Titans coach Jeff Fisher's name has been thrown around as a possible replacement to Joe Gibbs in Washington or Bill Parcells in Dallas if either quits after the season. But the Titans hold an option on Fisher for 2007.

While I don't think that anything is out of the question with Snyder as owner, I'm pretty confident that Gregg Williams, or Al Saunders will be our next coach.

Agreed, it will probably be Williams when Gibbs leaves.

That's just another reporter throwing the Redskins as a candidate to land a big-name coach again. That's what they always do.

If anybody replaces Gibbs, it will be Gibbs like chad and aswas said.

God forbid Gibbss leaves, but if he did, I'd be torn between retaining Williams and the possibility of bringing in Fisher. I really like Fisher and think he's a great coach. I really like Williams as well and have always said that if Gibbs stepped down, I'd like him to step up and fill in.

About a coach with a job and hasn't been fired taking over for 1 of two guys that haven't said they are quitting.

Slow news day is one thing but jeez.

Let's not forget that Williams actually has a clause in his contract that will pay him a million extra dollars if the Redskins DON'T name him as Gibbs' successor.

No doubt, why would we want Fisher. Gregg Williams would be the logical choice since he has been there before.

JONES TARGETING FISHER FOR POST-TUNA REGIME

Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is expected to pursue Titans coach Jeff Fisher when Bill Parcells leaves the team.

We recently reported on rumors in league circles that Jones wants Fisher to be the next coach of the Cowboys.

Mort's report comes from sources close to former Browns coach Butch Davis, who had an eyeball on the 'Boys job but who apparently learned that the "speculation" (i.e., our report) regarding Fisher was accurate.

The only glitch for Jones is that the Titans hold a one-year option on Fisher, which means that he might not be available until 2008. Although Mortensen says that Tennessee owner Bud Adams will exercise the option, Adams will be required to pay Fisher the average of the five highest-paid coaches in the league, based on the specific terms of Fisher's deal.

I thought I had heard that somewhere before you posted this. I remember hearing that the reason Jeff Fisher was so apologetic to the Cowboys after the face stomping incident was that he knew he might end up being the Cowpukes coach next season.

I know allot of you like Williams. However i think he is not what the skins need as a head coach. It's all about what have you done for me lately. As for the Million dollar clause. This is Dan Snyder your talking about. He spent that before breakfast this morning. So For Mr. Williams enjoy your money dude...

I read somwhere the Cowher is another coach on Snyders monitor. The worst kept secret in the NFL is that Cowher is leaving at the end of the season.

I love Joe, and I would love to win another championship under his helm. But if we have the chance to get a great coach like Fisher? I say we get him.

Gregg Williams is great as a defensive mind. But I think he has the Buddy Ryan syndrome. Once you get promoted to head coach, the team falls apart.

I say Gibbs or Fisher. no one else.
