Patten serve? What has he done for us? This dude is hurt as much as Fred Taylor.....there is always something wrong with this guy and heres a chance for him to do something and he's hurt.....again......round 45....? When did he hurt himself, practice? Cut him this offseason...don't need him.

And with regards to stories about "Lloyd and ARE better step up", better yet, Brunell better step his you know what up!! You throw the ball to these 2 guys, feed them the freeking rock....they'll step up, throw them the rock/stretch the freeking field a bit...maybe w/o Moss on the field, Brunell will realize that there is more than 1 receiver on the team (besides Cooley). If I was Lloyd, I'd be torked too, guarantee that dude's open more often than the # of catches he's caught.

Good point. I agree. . .in 2 years Patten has not found his place in this offense. Don't know how much he contributes to the locker-room, but I think that Lloyd and ARE have each contributed more in their short time here than Patten has in all of last year / this year.

I have often wondered why Patten has been so non-productive in Washington. He was an acceptable, not great, receiver in New England who was able to complement the primary receiver very well and make some contributing plays. But here in Washington, nothing. I had hoped he would do more this year, but then no one is doing much compared to last year, including Portis, Moss and Cooley. I am not meaning to slam them or anything either. But look at the numbers for any of them. There has to be something else going on that we, the fans, are not aware of to cause such a drastic flip-flop in this team.

His name is not Santana Moss or Chris Cooley, so Brunnell has no idea he's on the team.

Don't most teams have backup receivers?

Just a thought: is Patten using Taylor Jacobs' old locker? That might explain it.

I can't dislike somebody just for being injured a lot, but Patten is wearing my patience a little thin at the moment. Then again, it's not his fault that the Redskins splashed the cash on two wide receivers in the offseason, and made it unlikely that he would ever get a game, whether fit or not.

This weekend might have been exactly the time to see what purpose he serves, but it looks like that boat has sailed as well.

I stated back during the spring when everyone thought he would be a June 1st cut we should have released him. He takes up a spot on the roster where we could be developing a younger player. He does not play special teams, and he's only caught two balls this season. I can see nothing he does to warrant a roster spot.

well, when moss is getting 33% of the passes, cooley 30% and the rb's and the first three rows in the stadium 36%, that leaves 1% of the passes for the other receivers... :puke:
i wouldn't even go as far as saying ANY of the other receivers have even had a fair shot. patten, ARE, and lloyd can all catch the ball, provided they get it thrown their way.

I really hate to keep going back to Brunell, but when we have a QB that can't throw to receivers, do we really know anything about Patten? Granted he was injured during Brunell's brief competent period, but other than that Brunell can't throw in general.

He keeps Duckett company on the sideline.
