I read Santana did not practice today. Anybody know if he will be available for the Dallas game?

If you read the same thing I did, I don't think he knows yet.

Imagine Brunell's play without having Moss to throw to

Brunell will just refuse to throw the ball to any other recievers....look for Betts and Portis to have a combined 20 catches on Sunday if Moss is out.

I can't see Moss missing this game...but if he does, it can only serve to remind Brunell of the other weapons he has available to him. Look for Patten to have a big game is Moss is out.
Why do I say that? Easy. If I forgot about Patten, you can be sure Dallas did, too.

Brunell will still find Moss, even if it's harder spotting him in street clothes, standing on the sideline. Brunell has always had one of the prettiest out-of-bounds balls in the game today, so he's ready to hit Santana 5 yards behind the bench. With no Dallas defenders back there, Moss could have a career day. He'll be in the parking lot before a Dallas guy even lays a finger on him.

I would be surprised if Moss misses this game but I would agree that it would mean more opportunities for the other receivers. Good point tcw!
As you can read from some of the posters above this team has a lot of detractors and it is much more rewarding for them to spread the anti rhetoric than try and be supportive of their team and the players. We play Dallas this week and you would think that this team needs all the positive support it can get.
I think that Moss is starting this game - this is an important game to these players and IMO they all believe they can and will beat Dallas.

The owner and management of this team are doing a heck of a lot more to undermine this team's chances of a win this week and into the foreseeable future than any fan on an internet message board. Heck, Gibbs' insistance in believing M. Brunell is starter material anymore is practically conceding the game before kickoff.

Mark Brunell, Clinton Portis and Santana Moss didn't practice Monday as the Redskins returned from a four-day, bye-week vacation. Of the three, Moss was the least optimistic about playing in Sunday's game against the Cowboys. Moss, the team's only consistent receiver this season, is recovering from a strained left hamstring. He said he was being cautious because of his experience with previous hamstring injuries. "If you go out and try to be Superman, you can prolong the healing process," Moss said. "I don't want to do that. I really don't want to miss Sunday, but I don't want to miss any Sunday."

With his importance to the offence, he won't miss this game.

Why are you such a downer man?
Seriously.

I thought it was funny.
Cynicism is what gets me through these tough times.

In the Indianapolis game, Brunell completed 27 passes to 8 different receivers. Moss was like 6th on the list. Man, he really zeros in on his favorites though, doesn't he.

And the player with the most receptions was a running back, Betts. Brunell also completed more passes to his rb's and tight end's than to his receivers. I don't know how you could argue that Brunell hasn't been locking onto Moss way too much this season. That was VERY clear during the Titans game.
