So you're calling Romo a franchise QB after one start in the NFL??

McNabb is definitely a franchise QB, as is Eli Manning in New York. You're ready to proclaim Tony Romo a "franchise" QB after he's only started ONE game? That's quite a stretch, isn't it?

The fact is, you can't say whether or not Romo is a "franchise" QB until he shows he's a long term solution for their QB position. If you use your criteria for a "franchise" QB, then you can say that Jason Campbell is the Redskins franchise QB. No, he hasn't started a game, but he was obviously someone Gibbs wanted and got, so I'm sure they're developing him. If he's not the answer, then I'm sure they'll address the needs in some way.

I told Niki last night that if Romo won, the board would be full of posts saying that because Romo won, we better start Jason Campbell. I am guessing this is the start of it. (haven't been to Hog Wash yet though).

I don't know that Romo's performances already make for considering him a "legitimate" franchise QB.

I also didn't think that the Brunell hatred would be so intense that THN Redskins fans would see the Cowboys as optimistically as possible while seeing the Skins as negatively as possible. . .but here we are. . .

It's not Brunell hatred at all, at least not for me. It's just pure frustration. Yes, maybe all our expectations (Super Bowl!) were too high, but at least making the playoffs seemed like a reasonable expectation, but this is just a pure collapse. We've got as many wins as the Raiders now! If someone had said we'd be 2-5 at the bye, we'd have laughed them off the forum, but here we are . . .

Of course, it's not just the losing that stinks - it's how we're losing: by playing timidly and conservatively. While other coaches try their young QBs, we've still got JC riding the pine watching Brunell do little more than pad his stats and ignore most of his receivers not named Moss. And right next to him is Duckett, who's lucky if he even gets to dress for a game, let alone play. If he has any sense at all, he'll go elsewhere next year. Finally, there's the dread that given how badly this team bungles personnel issues, we'll have these problems for years to come, trading away draft picks in bad deals, paying too much for marginal free agents, and refusing to learn. It's not a pretty picture.

As far as the guy who put Bleedslow out of a job, yes he is.

As much crap as Parcells took from the Especially Stupid Points Noted network, I'm actually glad that they are eating crow right now and saying that it was the right thing to do. In the Cowboys case the poor offensive line play was the main reason that the fat guy's hand was forced. So why hasn't Jason Campell? if the season is lost for the Redskins, like many around seem to think it is, WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL, START THE KID ALREADY. Or is it, they want to wait until you mathmatically out of the playoffs?

It might be too soon to call Romo a franchise qb, but Dallas has managed to bring along a young qb that has played well (in limited opportunities) and appears to have earned the trust and confidence of his teammates and coaches. Only time will tell if he can be a franchise qb, and as much as I hate to say it, it does look like Dallas might have a good young qb with a lot of potential.

that's probably a better way to put it.

the way he played sunday night though, hard to imagine it not working out.

I wouldn't give Romo the franchise name yet, but there had to be a change. bledsoe was just getting hammered out there and it started to affect his play.
I also believe that its time for Campbell to get his feet wet, and if you guys lose to Dallas this week than Gibbs should let him play.

Just as we do not know if Romo will be a great QB for the Cowgirls we do not know if JC will be the man for us. But, at least that fat jerk the Tuna had the guts to make a change which our coach does not.
