Congrats Taz

I just wanted to make a post to let everyone know to pass their congratulations on to Taz. She got a promotion yesterday and a 'bit' of a raise too.

It's the second time in a row that she has done 'the impossible' and jumped two levels at work, instead of one. That's just what happens when you're an exceptional employee, and an exceptionally good worker.

The promotion is great for Taz because she's someone who needs a challenge, and the new role will be more challenging. It's great because her increased importance with the company will actually allow her to also do other things that she's interested in (teaching Yoga).

Of course she doesn't care about the raise one bit, but I am happy to see her actually rewarded with a pay scale in line with the quality of work that she brings.

I know she's quiet and would never broadcast it, so I am for her. She deserves it, she's earned it, and I'm very proud of her.

I always am actually, but this time it's for more than just being an amazing person.

thanks everyone!

I am quite excited about the opportunity! You know, the interview process is really, really easy when they knock on your door!

Thanks Mark! You are my greatest motivator!

... and yes, the little bit of extra $$$$ is giggly good!

Nice work. Is it high enough in the company to need regular "business trips" for "market research" in the Washington DC area by any chance?

The heart of any yoga practice is the performance of yoga positions (called asanas), each of which has specific physical and mental benefits. Terms and explanations follow:

Image
Pose Sanscrit name: Bakasana
Translation: Balancing marriage, job and a famous website.

Image
Pose Sanscrit name: Eka Pada Rajakapotasana
Translation: The Redskins offense/defense play conundrum.

Image
Pose Sanscrit name: Vrschikasana
Translation: Bending over backwards to get along with BossHog.

Image
Pose Sanscrit name: Salamba Sirsasana
Translation: Trying hard even if the entire World looks upside down sometimes.

Pose Sanscrit name: Natarajasana
Translation: The way forward Mr. Gibbs.

Congratulations!

RiC, until the last photo, I thought you had photos of Taz doing yoga. I was quite confused until I realized it was just someone who looked a little bit like her.

Taz...I don't know what you do, what you look like or how much they're paying for somebody who looks like you to do whatever it is they have you doing that you apparently do better than anybody else whereever it is that you work...but, congratulations.
Hopefully, your stress levels don't rise with your salary.

Thanks for the good wishes everyone. Yesterday was my first day in the new job!

Oh, and TC... someone who looks like me, doing whatever it is I do, which is better than anyone else at this place I work, is apparently quite fairly compensated for whatever it is I do.

Sorry Chad... I'm not THERE yet... I don't hire.

JF... No, unfortunately, I don't anticipate any marketing trips to DC... don't think I could even TRY to pull that one off ... since I'm not in marketing! Now, if we had a data center in DC that needed to move somewhere else... Hmmmmm...

Great pics RiC. I do all those. One of my fave asanas is Vrschikasana (Scorpion pose). Loved the translations!

Go, Taz!

(Just taking a break from work insanity to comment on things that really matter)

Well done!
