What is going on with Extreme Skins

I remember before they were brought by Danny Boy one could speak freely about the team, it seems now all of a sudden you can't say anything about Gibbs or Snyder. Am I the only one that feels this way? I have been a member on that board for years and was banned for 32 days for speaking how I feel about the Redskins and the aweful game they had yesterday. Will I also get kicked off of here for saying what I feel, I mean afterall I am a season ticket holder and I am entitled to my opinion or am I not when it comes to Daniel Snyder??

This board isn't owned by the team, and the staff here is very accommodating to dissenting viewpoints.
Follow the rules, and you'll be fine.

Absolutely you can say whatever you like, all we ask is that you follow our simple rules.

No swearing or attacking posters personally outside of the smack forum, and do us a favor and have a look for an existing topic that might be particular to what you may want totalk about. This just helps us keep dialogue flowing and keep from having a dozen threads on the exact same thing.

But all opinions are welcome as long as the rules are followed, and welcome to the boards.

Don't forget to check out the website as well as the boards.

You should never post on a forum that censors viewpoints. If they do that, you don't need them. Stay with THN.

If you read some of the threads, you will not be worried. Gibbs and Snyder are slammed here all the time.

BTW, your posts may be criticized by posters. That is the nature and not counter to the board so if that bothers you stay away.

I disagree with your opinion 100%. I, for one , have had my say about something a couple times that some of the Moderators and other posters have taken exception to. I have seen many other posts that have been extremely critical of Dan Snyder and Joe Gibbs. But, to my knowledge, the Moderators have never deleted a post without good cause. They, like everyone else add their 2 cents worth about the post but they are fair.

Welcome to the board, I remember the good. Like everyone else is saying, follow the (simple) rules and you'll be fine. No censoring here, although individual posters will exercise their right to disagree with you just as much as you are free to opine in the first place ;)

I can't really answer your questions for you about that other website, as Extremeskins isn't a topic of interest at THN. We like it here, so other boards aren't usually the subject of discussion.

Anyway, happy posting, and don't forget to check out the main page.

We call people out on here when they make mistakes. There is something nice here about being in a small community. I've been on here for years but was at ESkins before and here you get a great opportunity to speak your mind, you don't have to search endlessly for topics you want to talk about, and you dont get repremanded for just having an opinion. Welcome and tell your friends.

I wish to bring two points on the main page of the site:

1) Washington Redskins
Independent News Source

2) Home of Washington Redskins most fanatical fans.

Let me expand on each:

1) This is an INDEPENDENT site. Nobody tell us what, how, where, or when to say (or not) anything. Every poster EARNS respect before others here with knowledge, information and wisdom.

2) THN is truly the home of some of the MOST fanatical fans I have ever seen on any sport and any team. We love our Redskins dearly and feel very passionately about it. Sometimes we get in pretty agitated virtual fights among ourselves but there is no question that fans love the Skins here.

Last but not least, welcome to the Dan Snyder fan club. You will find divided opinions here about him. Some of us ADMIRE and LOVE HIM for his vision and knowledge about the game of football in general and his choices since he bought the team.

You get the drift about the last one ... Welcome to the board.

It's not all bad though. After seeing this thread and lurking a bit, I found this there and thought it was hilarious!! Heh, kind of a shot at all the fair-weather fans, imo. :)

Edit: Pic removed since I'm not sure images are allowed. I just realized that I don't see a lot of images littering the threads so I think I need to check up on the board rules.

Every post said that as long as you follow the rules you will not be censored.

Then you said you disagree 100% and "the Moderators have never deleted a post without good cause" which agreed with EVERY post preceding yours. So what did you disagree 100% about?

So are you saying true fans aren't bothered when their team does poorly?

I just removed the pic from my post since I'm not sure they're allowed. Do you know if posting images is allowed?

As for your question, no. I was just implying that when we lose, a lot of fair-weather fans jump ship really quickly and constantly pick apart every part of the team.

"Jumping ship" is ceasing being a 'skins fan - who's done that? I've survived the Norv/Marty/Spurrier years - I'll certainly stick around for Gibbs II.
As for "picking apart every part of the team", so what? Some parts aren't that good! Aren't we allowed to say that? Or do 'true fans' just say "THE REDSKINS ROCK!!!" over and over again, even while they're getting beat, at home, by a rookie QB on a winless team which will be lucky to finish 6-10 this year?!? What's the point of that? Or does one have to deny reality to be a 'true fan'?

Just because there are people out there that doesn't think Gibbs walks on water and can point to logical reasons as to why this team is playing like garbage should not have to be banned. It's crazy that once you were allowed to voice your opinions on there, even if harsh, but now anything said that isn't positive first your chastized by Gibbs minions such as Blade, Bubba or Fanssince62 then all of a sudden your out of there with no warnings or anything. I have yet to even get a response back from them answering why I was banned in the first place, however I also notice that if one of the moderators like you, they can cuss you, talk about your family degrade you and nothing is done. If I was immature there are several things I could do to that website but you know what, Daniel Snyder or none of them knitwits are worth it. I have really enjoyed the topics here and for the most part love the feedback from you all and that I want to thank you all this is a very good site and I wouldn't go back to Extreme skins to save my life, the site sucks, the moderators suck and hey I can't blame them that site is a exact relica of the current team, lots of potential but not living up to the billing! Maybe if the moderators there grew some testicles and allowed people thier 1st ammendment rights they could get a better mix of people but for anyone that hasn't gone to that site and registered, you better be a Borg Gibbs Snyder drone because there, resistence is futile!

I think it's probably just differences in the way people resolve the frustration. Instead of attacking players, coaches, etc. I guess I prefer to address the team as a whole. Meaning, I think the offense should do such and such, the defense should do this, the coaches should be doing more of this, etc. Basically, I'm pulling for whatever players we have, wanting them to succeed. I guess it's hard for me to recognize fans of the team when so many seem to be tearing them apart every which way they can. Constructive criticism is one thing but just saying certain players suck, the coaches suck, our owner sucks, etc. just doesn't seem to be very useful. Although, maybe it's the way people let out their frustration so I guess it could be useful for them. Anyway, it's probably just because I'm fairly new and don't have a history with the members. My apologies if anyone was offended by the implication.

Yeah it's true though and perhaps this was done with the graces of the powers that be at ExtremeSkins, in all actuality the site should be ExtremeForeSkins! Because they act like a bunch of D!cks!

No not at all I like your thoughts, however I am a season ticket holder and the price increases since Gibbs has come back are seriously ridiculous. I personally think Gibbs was brought back to draw people to the stadium. I mean a Value Meal at Fedex is $15.00! That is highway robbery. I also pointed out that I thought Gibbs is backing Brunell for him taking Gibbs to the hospital and I was chastized for that, I simply said that based on Gibbs 1st tenure versus the team and the disarray currently that perhaps the game has passed Gibbs by, and that I don't think Gibbs relates to today's players as he did back in the first tenure. I think Gibbs has become a senile old man that is not quick to make decisions based on team first but worries about his "pets" first and foremost. Being at the games and all the home games I see exactly that Brunell is not capable of seeing the whole field, no longer has the physical tools REQUIRED to be a starting NFL QB and that if Ramsey would have been given a quarter of the chances Brunell continues to get he would still be the starter. But in saying those things I was banned for 32 days. So for me, screw them all.

ES sucks and blows right now. I am saying that because they won't let me create any new thread simply because I created a "legitimate" thread right after the Dallas game this year.

Oh well... the team sorta kinda blows right now too so I guess this is normal.

Pics are just fine, as long as they are not in you signature.

As to everyone else, this thread is for talking about extremeskins and welcoming a new member. There are plenty of places already talking about the issue of positive vs. negative fanning. Please discuss those points in those threads.

Also welcome to all new members. Enjoy the site.

This is false and it is wrong.
You are angry and that is alright. But this is utterly ridiculous.

Accoding to the Rules, nobody will dispute the right to express an opinion, any opinion, but that does not mean that I can possibly agree with those words. Do not let your frustration get the best of you and our team.

Wow. Alot of misinformed, blind hatred for ES here.

You guys have a great forum. No doubt. One of the reasons I decided to join up here.

But alot of the opinions on the forum over there are pretty offbase.

Oh well. Can't change a person's opinion no matter how hard I try. :)

PS: Sorry for the old bumpage. Didn't mean to do that. Thought I read '2009' on the last posting date.

Uhh. Oops. :)

Say what you will about ES, but I may be slightly doltish.

Carry on.
