I honestly do not see your team having a chance in this game, not in out house, not with this offense. I think you will play well on offense, and in particular the running game. I do not see any magic wand for our team coming off of the bye week, we are soft as charmin in the middle right now after losing Simon for the season. We are small, and fast, and built to play with a lead in the game. The blue print has been laid on how to beat the Colts, run, run, and keep our offense off of the field. Mix in some play action here and there, blitz on defense, voila.

Our offensive line is built for pass protection, but we have ran the ball with some recent success when we needed to.

On defense we get back one of our best players at safety, Bob Sanders. Though small in stature, he brings the wood with him every chance he gets. Freeney can take a game away on his own, and not just with his speed. He has incredible strength, the last two weeks we played he literally picked up a tackle and tight end throwing them into the quarterback. Mathis on the other side can wreak havoc is left one on one, so most teams run draw plays to his side and let him run past the play.

If I could come up with one play for your team, in all sincerity, it would be this. Run a draw play to his side and use the half back option, the corner will come in to help with the run and leave the wr wipe open for td.

I actually think not only your offense is going to have a field day but your defense is as well. I think Freeney will 3 or 4 sacks and Mathis maybe 1 or 2. Our o-line can't handle big time pass rushers. We couldn't even run it on the worst ranked rushing defense at home so I see no reason we will run it up in Indi as hard as it is to play there. You all will easily create turnovers and don't even get me started on our defense trying to stop your offense.

It never seems to fall that way when a team is heavily favored, I have not seen the odds for this one but can bet we have possibly a double digit line. Out of boredom I have talked a lot of smack in that forum, but nothing to the affect that we will crush you in this game. Our team is built for speed, and the turf, crowd, will give us an advantage. However, Freeney hasn't set the world on fire this season with sacks to date.

Good luck, this one may be a lot closer and more interesting than you might have thought.

Don't be so sure of a massive win or even a win. It depends on which Redskins team shows up Sunday, If it is the one from Jacksonville, the Colts will loose your 1st game. If it is the one from yesterday, the Colts will be 6 - 0.

Compounding the problem for the Skins is that the Colts had a bye last weekend, and therefore have two weeks to prepare for the game and work out some problems (i.e. the run defense). This will be the second good team coming off a bye in three weeks that the Skins play. That's a tough schedule. The Colts should win this game, but maybe the Skins' offensive "geniuses" will realize that they have to run the ball more than 17 freakin' times.

Thanks for the insight. Did you stay up all night figuring out that we suck? Well, we still love our team. No matter how bad we lose you can't take that away.

Hopefully after watching yesterday's game the Colts decide not to practice this week.

Seriously, I think the Redskins will turn in a heroic effort this weekend. After stinking the place up yesterday against a team of turkeys, I have every faith that they are going to come out and play hard against the Colts.

Having said that, the Colts are better than the Redskins, and I'd expect to see them win the game 9 times out of 10.

But there's always the other one time...

We might be able to beat a team of turkeys. Not trained ones, but maybe wild turkeys. Or if we get the Colts to drink enough Wild Turkey during the game it might do it.

Don't kid yourself - those wild turkeys are beasts on special teams.

Peyton Manning grew up a Redskins fan and he knows we need this game way, way more than he does.

He will subconsciously make a few mistakes and enable the Skins to steal this game.

Skins win 23-20.....

I love the Redskins. I'll always root for them to win even when I think we'll lose.

But I think there's no chance we win next week given the way we played the last two weeks on offense and if the defense doesn't return to 2005/2004 form.

The Colts have too many weapons on offense and our defense can't even stop 11 seniors from an old-folk's home from scoring when they need to.

Offensively - we won't stop Freeney and will be in for a long day.

Indy isn't as good as they were last year, but they are good enough to beat us this weekend.

So I do believe it will take an uncharacteristic turn of events for us to win.


That being said - I will nonetheless pick the skins in Hognostifications anyway.

I can't believe what I've ben reading!! I thought this was supposed to be a
serious football talk thread. But all I've read are calls for Brunell's head and for God's sake...... Coach Gibbs!!!!! I've been with this team since '73. I have too much faith in this team and I KNOW FOOTBALL this team is one tackle, one MORE good pass, one less penalty/mistake, ONE MORE GOOD RUN, away from being elite. Colts are serious underachievers!! Are u kidding me!! Peyton thinks he can do it all on his own. Whats up with him waving off the punt team give me a break he thinks he is the almighty or something please go get an ego check! Pitts burg spanked that u know what! Not the first time I've heard that, nor the first time i have thought it myself. However the simple fact remains. WE ARE IN THE REGULAR SEASON. This is when Peyton shines and shows that he is the best QB in the NFL . Yes, he may be full of himself. It annoys me at times, but i cannot blame the man, can you? Our offense will be forced to put themselves to rights, not to mention i look forward to having Sanders back in the saddle. I think the Redskins will be ready to play come Sunday. I think Saunders will unleash the playbook and the defense will come to play

I on the other hand am actually betting on the Redskins beating the Colts in Indy . Not saying the Skins are any better, but are far worse a team, but in the fact that every year, we lose to a crappy team we should have destroyed and beat a good team. Then the turn around happens and we have a possibility of making the playoffs. It is very likely the Redskins will lose, but i still have something telling me that they may win this one, not by much, but i will take it going into our bye week... if we win this one, the season can turn around, if not (most likely scenario) then its lookin on to 07 for the Skins..

You view is limited son. All that matters is winning the big one. Best Qb in the NFL says who? Sure he may be king of the stats. Like said before its all about the Bling! Right now hes just singing the blues. Marino had better stats than Montana. John Elway had better stats than Montana. But Montana had yup the Bling Bling Son. Win in the clutch. When it really counts most. When the worlds eyes are on you. Can you capture the moment. Or merely be a spectator watching things happen? Can u look the Lion in the eye and cut his head off when your life is on the line. Na the best in the NFL ahhh I think not. Excellent player sure fire Hall of Famer. Best in the regular season yes. I think this will be a close game, and I doubt anybody is denying that. Also, if the Skins who beat the Jags show up, this could be your second test of the season. In all honesty, the Colts don't exactly have the hardest schedule in the league, nor do they play in a division which is top to bottom very competitive. You have the Texans twice and the Titans twice (who are actually better than their record indicates, IMO), not to mention playing the Jets and Dolphins. Just a word of advise, don't get ahead of yourself thinking we're going to be a cake walk on Sunday, because if the team that beat the Jags shows up, you guys could be in big trouble. What we've got going for us is that were are not one dimentional. Double cover Portis and you weaken your defense of Moss and Lloyd. Double cover Moss, and you leave Portis and Lloyd open to burn you big time. The key is of course, our QB. If he actually shows up, our offense will be firing on all cylindars.
