I would have prefered Peterson, but oh well.

Novak is very accurate, young and has the size where you might expect him to develop more leg power.

He may not be a long term solution, but he has a chance to be...

Good luck Nick!

Does this mean Hall will be realeased? How does that work, and what cap implications will it have?

He also went to Maryland.

I wish this would have happened a few months ago though.

Sweet...long time coming...Too bad Nicky can't throw a post route, rush the passer or cover 3rd string WRs.

i'm as glad as anyone to get a different kicker in here, but my recollection of nick novak '05 is thus:

* kickoffs that landed at the 20 consistently

* blocked field goals on seemingly low kicks.

though he did make the game-winning FG agains seattle... twice.

so hopefully this will be good.

Its about time. Sad that it had to be another injury...but this was a matter of when and not IF...we are just lucky that Novak was still available.

I think Nick Novak seems like a nice guy (judging from his website Nicknovak.org... or net... I can't remember) but why are people so crazy about him?

Is it just about him replacing Hall? Is it about him going to Maryland? Is it a little of both?

I think its because he is a hometown favorite, and he did make a game winner against the Seahawks....besides its time to get a young talent in that can develop into a long term stud...he has tools to be that guy.

I hope you're right, but there have been some questions about his distance.

Still, at 6 feet and nearly 190 pounds you would think he could work past that.

no kidding, welcome back, i'm so burned out on Hall. He did nothing in recent memory for us, nothing. Missed what could have been a huge momentum changer in Seattle last year, missed game tier in Minnesota, missed last weekend, there's more, at least 1 more I can't place last year.

Novak? hmm, beat Seattle, beat Dallas(yea, special pt) in what, 5 games?

Later, Hall....later....hope Novak can kick deeper on kickoffs

Glad to have you back Nick.

Better warm up that leg for lots and lots of PATs on Sunday.

Glad to see my fantasy stud kicker of last year has found a home here in Washington. He wasn't that good here but once he got to Arizona he was like a different kicker. Lets hope he brought that kicker back with him

How is Novak on kickoffs? Is he going to kickoff or is Frost going to do it?

I assume Frost may kick off... unless we get another punter.

Yeah, that's all I seem to remember about him...not having a very strong leg. Hopefully he has improved his distance but more importantly, hopefully we won't need many field goals. :)
