Does anybody want to be reminded of what Bush's Pre 9/11 thinking (or lack thereof) was? Yes? No? Either way, you should watch this embedded video...

Thanks ATV...I've seen this and it is disturbing. What is presently, in real time just flooring me, is listening to GW the last couple days as Musharraf and Karzai have been in DC.

How can he still be publicly trumpeting the 'Liberation' of Afghanistan? Isn't it widely known as fact that a record poppy harvest just wrapped up, women in many areas are now being forced to wear burquas again, schools are being shut down, and theTaliban is rapidly re-emerging? Even some congressional Republicans admit that we are backsliding in Afghanistan.

I'm not even a Democrat, but how can our executive branch continue to act as if they would do eveything the exact same as they have since 9-11? There is no accountability or responsibility, and worse yet, Bush feels as though he is doing divine work, and that he is the chosen one. Unreal.

Well I think that they presume that would be seen as a sign of weakness. Because, that's all they've got - A righteous tough guy who will supposedly keep us safe. That's what they campaign on, fear. That's their platform. All they care about is sheer power, and that requires winning elections. Competency has nothing to do with their equation - Only an appearance of competency matters. That's what Faux News is for.

I forgot to mention GW 2 days ago claimed that we are in the midst of the third "Awakening". Sweet.

Bush is the greatest nightmare ever to attack values and the American Tway of life. World War II was worse, Nam was horrible, and then of course there was the Civil War, the War of 1812, the Depression, Terrorism, and McCarthyism.

My order of nightmares, worse to least.

World War II-- Loss of war would have destroyed all

The War of 1812-- loss could have lost outr independence

Bush-- loss of constitution, balance of power, fair elections, privacy, writ of Habeus Corpus, adherence to Geneva accords, etc.

The Civil War-- abolition of slavery at stake. Would rank higher but the war's loss would maintained the status quo, not worsened it.

McCarthyism-- caused temporary loss of rights by false accusation and the use of fear.

The Depression-- Without government economic intercession the country might have been torn by anarchy and/or martial law.

Terrorism-- only a threat to American values and way of life insofar as politicians exploit it to gain and stay in power.

You make some good points, and I largely agree, but there's something that you've totally forgotten. This was nearly the end of it all.....

Thank God that majority of the American people do not think like you guys do. Im sure after reading this you will post a million polls showing this and showing that but I saw all of those same polls the past 2 elections you have lost. I dont mind the democrat party because I believe in a 2 party system. What makes me never want to vote that way is the leaders of that party which make it the extreme left.

Strange, I don't remember polls ever indicating as much a Democratic preference of 10 to 16 percentage points since.....since.....sometime before I was born (1972). No, sorry, but it's looking more and more like the people have finally caught on to this lying, intrusive, criminal, incompetent administration. No, sure, there will always be the 15-20% of die-hard Right Wingers like yourself that will always be willing to go down with Der Fuhrer, Nixon, and their ships - No matter how much they trash the Constitution and all the things Republicans USED to stand for. We live in some sad, sad times, but no, change is in the air.
