Well i hope i put this in the right section...

So im looking at the schedule thinking about some things like last year and so on...

i think that we will beat JAC(we're at home). (2-2)

Then we will beat NYG casue they will have that 4th quarter issue still. (3-2)

TEN is terrible maybe worse then HOU. (4-2)

Then we go to the RCA Dome and that will be a good game but we will lose (unless Manning is hurt before that). (4-3)

4-3 at the break is ok.

We have DAL at home thats a win. (5-3)

At the Linc will be a loss. (5-4)

The only thing Tampa has are the hot chicks in the stands. (6-4)

When we play CAR its a 50/50... if they are like last year its a loss... if its like this year its a win, so im going win. (7-4)

ATL will be tough also its all about the run games. But we are at home. (8-4)

We are gonna have a 3-0 winning cause we are at home. (9-4)

I think we lose to NO at the Superdome. Saints look special (9-5)

We kill the rams for a playoff feast. (10-5)

We tell Eli that not only is there no 4th Q for you but no Jan as well. (11-5)

Holla back with what you think. Even if it is a little early.

I never pick a loss. I have concerns, or nerves about some games, but I have never sat down thinking "We're gonna lose."

So while I would be happy as a bug snug in a rug with 11-5 and I applaud your forsight...I tend to be a bit irrational and fanatic...so my prediction would be something like 14-2. After a lost, it would be whatever and whatever loses we already have. I know the game and know its unlikely that we will run the table, however, when looking at any game individually, my fan-hood clouds rationale and makes me pick the SKINS...!!

We played the Texans who have the worst Defense in the league. They are last in Points against and yardage. And lets not forget that our own D is still looking alittle shaky...I'm not saying the season is over, but its to early to say 11-5 after the poor start...lets get some consistency going on both sides of the ball...

Let's worry about Jacksonvile before we even think about what we do with the Giants, and then worry about the Titans, and then think about Indy, etc...

This is the NFL, predictions of this kind are never accurate. If they were, I'd be living in Vegas and making a living off of my winnings.

To be able to assess each game and determine if it's a win or a loss, we'd need to be able to account for injuries and things that might happen between now and then, so it's pointless to get into a "We'll be 4-3 after the break, then lose this one, win that one, etc...'.

Jax is not far beneath Indy. I'll be VERY happy with a win against them

While predictions are ridiculous in sports, I disagree with the implication that this guy can't make a post as a fan about the season. As long as the players, coaches etc are focused on the game at hand, it is of no consequence that the fans speculate in good fun.

I just don't comprehend the idea of picking a loss.

well put... if the skins don't play BETTER than they did sunday, they will be 2-5 going into the bye week. Penalties have to stop and the Skins have to show they can stop teams from throwing all over them. Hey here's an idea... how about Andre Carter and Archuleta actually earn a payck... Right now, Demetric Evans gives them a better pass rush than Carter. Damn he moves slow.

I think 11-5 would be great and enough for a WC at least. I have questions as to the legitamacy of the Eagles. Living in Philly for the last 5 years I really don't think they have what it takes - i.e. McNabb is not good in big games, Westbrook is a China Doll, Reid is too conservative.

I don't think the Giants are very good either nor the Cowboys even though they beat us.

My concern continues to be Brunell and the passing game. If our defense played better and Clinton is not hurt he would not be such a liability. As it stands now, I worry.

I agree that 4-3 by the break is entirely within our reach, and that 11-5 still stands as a good pick for the Skins this year.

I'll never pick against them in an individual week (because I believe every game is winnable for us), I also know that (like it or not) SOME game won't be a W for us.

JPFair, I've got no issues with thinking about the season as a whole and not "focusing on the next game," for the simple reason that what I focus (or don't focus) on has absoultely no effect the Redskins one way or the other.

That's why I talk about the playoffs in August, and that's why I still predict anywhere from an 11-5 to a 14-2 record for this team. :)

I agree that predictions are ridiculous in sports, but did not indicate or imply that anyone can or can not make a post about it. I merely disagreed with the method of calculating what our win/loss record is/was going to be. Fans will always speculate about things like that, as it's only human nature. I just disagree with that method, that's all. I prefer to look at the schedule and take it one game at a time, as we never know what happens until it happens. For example, when we were 5-6 last year who sat down in front of our schedule, and analyzed each game and concluded that we will win the last five games of the season? My point being, that it's much wiser to take it one game at a time and see what happens, otherwise any 'predictions' we look at or try to make, will leave one frusrated and baffled by how they could have predicted one thing, and not the other.

There's nothing wrong with doing it that way, I just choose not to do it. Sure, I've looked at the schedule and wondered about the outcome, but I never say "we'll lose that game". I simply say something like "that'll be a tough game" or "we should win that one". I'm always optimistic about the outcome of our games, regardless of the opponent. Who was it that once said "To be the best, you have to beat the best"?
So, all I'm saying is that I prefer to look at our chances of success by looking at it one game at a time, as opposed to speculting that we should win certain game, we'll lose others, and therefore end the season with an X-Y record.

4-3 at the break would be great and would set us up for a playoff run. It would be a huge accomplishment after starting 0-2.

After pretty much every pundit in the country had picked up to lose to Houston, I would throw credibility issues into the whole prediction process. These writers (especially the national ones on ESPN and SI) are supposed to be critical, not biased (but then again, it is the media, so forget I said that).

If you look at the strengths of the teams we have to play down the stretch, 3-4 is not unrealistic. Indy is a beast, JAX is stout, and with the Giants, it depends on which side of the bed Eli and Cough(Choke)lin woke up on.

Personally, I would love to see us win out to the bye to shut up the critics and stop all the Peyton Manning Man-Love going on with commercials.

Think about it, the old QB Brunell upending the "Second Coming of Unitas." That'd be a sight to see.

Actually a lot of us predicted that we would win the last five games, not because of our Nostradamus-like ability to see the future, but because we had to win those games to make the playoffs.

Remember the quote "5 in a row or we don't go?" Plenty of us chimed in on that and offered our opinion/prediction whether we would be able to do it.

I agree, but I think it was more of a case of us saying "we can do it", as opposed to us saying "Well, with Philly struggling, we'll win that one" or "Minnesota is hurtin, so we're gonna win that one", it was more of us saying we HAVE to do it, and I think we CAN do it. I think there's a difference between a prediction and a belief.

Other than that, I'm sure there were a lot of people at the beginning of the year that said "O.K. We'll win ONE of the Dallas games, split with the Giants, and split with the Eagles", and we'll probably beat Tampa, but lose to XYZ", and finish 11-5, but that didn't happen. I doubt very much that there were people at the beginning of the year saying "I think Tampa will beat us, we'll beat the Cowboys and Eagles twice, split with the Giants, and lose a few games in the middle of the year but need to finish 5-0 to go to the playoffs".

Predictions that analyze each game the rest of the way are rarely accurate, cuz nobody knows what's gonna happen for the rest of the way. But, having said that, I believe the Redskins can finish 11-5. That's not a prediction, that's just something I believe.

See, I don't think this concept works at all.

I mean, sure it's easy to just say
"Oh, well JAX at FedEx is a win so now we're 2-2. Then in week 7 Dallas is a win so now we're 5-3" or whatever.

In the NFL you need to take it one week at a time, or else you could overlook say, The Raiders (like last year) and then lose to a terrible team at home!

I kind of doubt 11-5 myself, but I love your optimism!

This weekend is huge. A win against a solid team like Jax could give the Skins real momentum. They really need this one!

I'm hoping for 11-5 but would settle for 10-6. I think that will still win the division and really that is all I'm predicting and that is based on the wins you do not expect and the losses that are not due to the other team playing better but to our mistakes.

Predictions are tougher now because there really is not the disparity there used to be in the NFL.

I am just looking at all things being equal in the NFC East - we have the better coaches and players, those are a big factor. I really think we have not played up to our potential and the toughest team will be the Eagles whom I think we are better than - that leads me to think we will win the NFC East.

The pukes do not have the offensive line they need and the schedule is really tough on the giants for the first 6 games and the iggles also have a very tough 6 game stretch towards the end.
