i don't know if we've ever done this topic here, soooooo, who is it? payton, smith, sanders, brown, etc.....
me personally, barry sanders has my vote. nobody got to the numbers he had as fast as he did, and he did in detroit not to mention. i have never seen anyone that could change direction and break as many tackles as he did on a dime. nfl network has a special on him right now, and they are showing his highlights, hell his whole career was nothing but a highlight. its a shame he got fed up with detroit and quit when he did, or it would be a very, very long time before ANYONE got close to his numbers.

what do you guys think?? :feedback;

Dammit DEHog! You stole my thunder! My vote was going to be for Sayers as well. I was able to watch some film of him playing. One word: "magical".

How does Emmit Smith make the top ten of all time??

He DID run behind one of the most dominating lines ever...

I'd say bump Smith and Red Grange totallly deserves a spot. Have you ever seen old game tape of the guy? No line, he made everything happen on his own in his prime. He was absolutely amazing... he helped make the NFL what it is today. He definitely gets my vote.

How does Emmit Smith make the top ten of all time??
simple, he has the numbers to back it up, not taking away form any of these other guys, but ES did his thing and reached the top. it's up to any one else to de-throne him and his stats in the future. personally, if he can stay healthy, and stick around, i think clinton portis has all the right tools to perform such a task.......1500 yds in both of his first 2 seasons...OUTSTANDING!
my vote is still barry. i was old enough to know what football was during his tenure, and i've personally never seen anything like him.......

How does Emmitt not make the top ten...

I could be wrong but didn't Riggins run behind a pretty good line?? A line that would someday inspire it's own website!!

You got me there, I suppose Smith DOES deserve a spot on the top 10
