with all the talk about how you "must" have a mobile QB to win, it begs the question, How many mobile have won it all? No, Mark Brunell is not the most fleet of foot. It has been proven that with the right team chemestry a Smart QB gets the ring. The list of "scramblers" is very short when it comes to the big game, so lets hope MB just plays smart

A mobile QB is nice, but it's not a requirement. Brady, Johnson, Dilfer, Rothlisberger, and Warner are all active QBs with SB rings, but they're not pure scramblers. Sure, they can run adequately when flushed, but they're not Vick. And how many rings does Vick have so far? That would be none. I'd like my QB to be a good QB first, and maybe a good RB second, but as long as he can get out of the way of the rush (unlike guys like Bledsoe), that's all the running he needs to do.

It all depends on definition. It's generally agreed that Randal Cunningham was a scrambler, and while he was good he's got no ring--even after he became more of a pocket passer with Minnesota.

Does Steve Young count as a scrambler? How about John Elway? Both could move and run if needed, but are they "mobile" QBs?

Of all of the QBs ont the SB list Elway and Young are about the only two that you could call scramblers, Fran The scram was on the losing side three times with the Vikes, many (Douglass, Cunningham, etc.) never even made it that far
