Yep thats right! We are raked 20th out of the 32 teams in the nfl according to that Pete Prisco tool. Not only are we in the lower half of our division but also the WHOLE nfl. Did Gibbs, portis, moss, etc all leave and I'm not aware of it? We didn't bring in any new players did we? LOL, doesn't all of this stuff look very similiar? Every year nothing changes on the Skins bashing and I hope it never stops because I love it. Every year these idiots are waaaay off with their rankings so thats good. Maybe this year they will be 19 spots off!!! HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!!!!!!

HS94 - From an objective point of view, we have only had one (1) solid year out of the last six, so I don't hink this guy would be eager to write us in as perennial powerhouses.
That being said, I do believe he's chosen not to factor into his rankings what you have mentioned above. No way are ALL those 19 teams ahead of us better than the B&G.

I think alot of these high ranked teams are either overrated or have tough schedules that are going to keep them down: Steelers, Pats, Jags, Giants, Cards, Ravens, and KC all spring to mind.
So which of those teams ranked 20 - 32 will rise to the top for the same reasons? Skins, Rams? Maybe the Bills or Texans?
Can't wait for the season to start and let the play on the field speak for itself.

I wasn't so much upset by being 19th, but behind the Cardinals!

That's just an insult!
I've said it before in other posts, but that awful preseason really made an impression on a lot of people out there. All of that is fine by me - if other teams overlook us again this year, it will be at their own peril.

I try and educate myself through reading and, being a sports fan, I like to read a lot of articles about my team and and pay particular attention to other teams that my teams compete with. I have found it interesting though that so many here continue to feel that the opinions of so many so called experts in the media continue to downgrade our Redskins and that we might be surprised or even not aware of this.
Please do not misunderstand me in that I do not mind the fact that people here are posting these articles - I think that is how I find out a lot of what is going on! I am only pointing out that these "media types" are
always against our team and
they know nothing - this will not change. Imagine when we win a Super Bowl! Do you really think these guys are going to change their tune? Why? They are more "marketable" if they are against our team and our organization. I give you Dr Z as exhibit 1 - this moron will never get it. If he had another brain cell it would be lonely!
We are who we are as far as the media is concerned and we are not going to be supported over the pukes, gints or those worthless iggles and their rude fans!!!! this is how it is with the people who sell papers or run sports sections for their TV & radio interests.

Sports writers predictions are so much nonsense that they are not worth giving credibility to. As an example, go to NFL.com and look at the predictions that the "expert"

made for the 2005 season. Then give then as much credit as they deserve.

I am really enjoying how we went from one of the best 10 teams before the preseason to everyone saying we suck now. It just makes the idea of winning sweeter.
I cannot wait for a real game.

Bookmark it, print it, stash it away so you can mail it back to Mr. Prisco after the season.

Ah Petey Prisco. This is the same guy that last year went from "this is a .500 team at best" to "this is a team built for the playoffs"...in the span of about a month if I remember. At least he acknowledged that Skins fans would cry foul in his opening statements.
You know, living out here in Colorado, all the negative pub has been nice for me. In my Fantasy league I was able to get Portis with the last pick in the first round (12th). I also picked up Lloyd in the 6th round and Brunnell was the 23rd QB taken...I actually picked him up as my backup. Oh well..the last laugh is always the one that matters most.

So i went back and looked at last years nfl sporting news magazine and boy i can tell you these experts are clueless. They had 1 team in the playoffs right in the nfc. Every third place team they picked in the nfc won their division. They had the skins 5-11. Plus they had pittsburgh and seattle not even making the playoffs. Every year though they want to put Indy in the s.b.
They will never get it right because nobody knows whats gonna happen in the game of inches. Reality in football can change on any one single play.

Was watching the NFL Network today, and they had their 2006 preseason show on. Marshall Faulk and Rod Woodson both picked the Skins to come in last in the NFC East.
I think it's actually a good thing that everyone thinks the Redskins magically suck. Nothing makes me happier than sports "experts" with egg on their face.

Thereby, wasting protein they so badly need.
Really, people. These guys are paid to put something on paper, so they do it. It's all subject to change. The first thing that'll happen is, they'll say..."Who knew Portis was this healthy? Ha-ha! That tricky Gibbs is at it again..."
Blah-blah-blah.
Prisco isn't any more informed than anyone else is, these days. All the information he's privy to, we're privy to...thanks to the internet. The days where there's actually an unknown scoop before the presses roll are gone.
Again, he's paid to put something there. He did. Cashed his check already. He doesn't get fired for being wrong, either...unlike some jobs.

Ain't that the truth!! Remember that Pittsburgh-Indy playoff game, where J. Bettis fumbled near the end, B. Sanders recovered, and was headed for the winning TD, only to have Big Ben trip him up just as he was falling down himself, averting a sure score? The whole league is evenly balanced, it's a challenge to consistently pick winners. And of course, that's what makes it so exciting. I can't wait for this season to start.

It's hard to tell how much weight we should give Washington's abominable preseason performance. Over the past decade, five teams have gone winless in the preseason after a winning record the year before. For the 2005 Colts, the preseason losses turned out to mean nothing. The other four teams, however, all had losing records: the 2003 Falcons, 2002 Rams, 2000 Chiefs, and 1997 Panthers. If you want to go further back, the 1982 Redskins had a winless preseason, and they won the Super Bowl.

Ranked 12th. At least this ranking is somewhat more reasonable.

It wasn't Bob Sanders, it was the guy who got knifed the week before, Nick Harper.

"The pre season means nothing!!" - we all keep saying this but nobody really believes any of that anyway.
I think the Steelers lost every game but are "predicted" to do fairly well this year

They must have some great coaches over there to be able to overcome such a troubling start to their season. We should hire those guys after we collapse this year

The Harmon forcast has us winning 24-14, but I like the quote best:
Joe Gibbs doesn't care that his Redskins are winless in the preseason since all six of Gibbs' previous .500 or worse preseasons ended with a postseason appearance, including Super Bowl titles in 1982, 1987 and 1991.
