NFL Live Bozos

Anyone catch the 'experts' on NFL Live last night? They previewed the NFC East, and both Golic and Schlereth picked the Cowgirls to win the division, and the Redskins to miss the playoffs. They cited how Portis' injury would have a huge impact on the offense throughout the season, and how neither of them felt that Brunell could make it through the season in one piece.

They also felt that once TO gets on the field, he'll be unstoppable, as will Donovan McNabb. They also liked the potential that Eli Manning has this year, being his 3rd year in the offense.

Normally, this type of stuff annoys me, and I just turn it off. This time, I calmly clicked the 'Save Until I Delete' button on my TiVo. I'll save it to a VCR tape, so I can send it to Golic and Schlereth at the end of the season. It looks like these two bought into the preseason hype. Good for us.

Schlereth should know better than that.

All of them should be callenged to wear a Hogette uniform or walk naked if their predictions do not hold. There are a couple of other people that still need to comply with their word to do so last season.

...that is, until he's dismissed from the team in Week 3, after he throws a tantrum and gives Parcells a "nipple twister" following a 28-3 pasting of the Cowgirls at the hands of the Redskins!!!

Those sound like pretty legitimate questionmarks to me. Shoulder injuries do tend to linger and Brunell has shown that at this point he in his career he is rather injury prone and at less than 100% he is a below average qb. I think that we will compete for the division title and will make the playoffs, but if Brunell plays like he did in '04 and Portis misses significant time then we could easily finish last in the division.

These guys are idiots. It was totally obvious they were basing thier predictions solely on the 3 preseason games. What a Joke!

I'll settle for the Hogette uni. I don't think my stomach could handle the alternative :-&

Sounds the same as last year...or any other year for that matter. Nothing new at all...

You what I don't get, is why everyone thinks TO is hands down the WR in the league???

He's too wussy to go over the middle. He's big, but not that big. He doesn't have break away speed. And he drops a lot of balls.

I think Marvin, Randy, Torry Holt, Steve Smith, and even Santana are better than TO.

Those knuckleheads are entitled to their opinions. I, for one, think it's gonna be a race between the Redskins and Cowboys for the NFC East title...so I don't think they were too far off.

Too many people discount Brunell but they seem to forget how strong Mark started last year when he had a full receiver corps. Brunell's numbers went down, I believe, about the same time as Patten waent down....leaving only Moss as the main WR. No wonder his numbers went down! Look for Brunell to start out strong again this year.

As for their wrap on Portis, I think they're mistaken. Portis got dinged in the preseason, sure. He'll be ready for game #1, however, and I see a great year ahead of him because the Skins offense is gonna be spread out so much that other teams dare not put 8 in the box to try to stop Portis. Because of that, he'll have more room to run this year than last year....so I fully expect him to beat last year's numbers.
