There's a review on the SI NFL homepage. Sounds pretty cool. You can play a lineman, and block now.

It sucks. Im be more detailed later. I hear that the system you purchase it for determines the amount of suckage.

ok I have a few seconds.

1. The canned animations are a hinderance to gameplay. When two players begin an animation together NO OTHER PLAYERS can act on them.

Ex. Lemar is engaged in a stiff arm animation with JJ. Sean Taylor is right there and will literally slide off the two of them and become out of position. Once the animation ends JJ is free to run for more yards and most likely a TD.

2. Stupid DB AI. Its atrocious and I dont care if I spelled that wrong. It can be remedied by controlling the safeties.

to be continued...

I have it for the 360, and I like it very much! One thing I don't like is the fact that Madden and Michaels don't do the play by play, but I guess that has to do with the new TV realignment. The graphics are unreal, and the AI seems to be better than before. There aren't enough plays that utilize Cooley, since he plays FB. Cooley has an overall rating of 98, which seems high to me. The default also starts Wynn over Carter at LE, even though Carter rates higher. I tried to simulate the Jacobs for Rumph deal, but the Niners wouldn't touch it without something else thrown in. They also rate Brunell's speed as higher than Campbell's, which doesn't make sense to me. Overall I would rate the game as Very Good-Excellent!

I've played it and so far I like it. Gameplay is cool, animations are better and graphics are very nice. but I'm not too hard to impress when it comes to football games.

I turn off all the "songs," and just play the classic Sam Spence NFL Films songs. My favorites are "Roundup" and "Rambling Man From Grambling."

I dont like that they took the player cameo's out in the beginning. I want to see santana moss from the pro bowl.

I have madden 07 for PC. I am not too impressed  . Just by what I have seen in the stores, madden for 360 looks like the best option. I have 7800gt(video card) and play the game on all the highest settings for the pc but it is lacking "polish". I just think EA cheaped out for the pc version(of course it cost $20 cheaper than the 360 version).

I am hoping that I will be able to download an updated roster after the season starts. Oh how I long for the Sega Sports NFL2K series. Those were by far the best football games ever produced. One good thing is I got a 360 controller for my PC so I will be able to play other games using a good controller.

I have it for PS2, not much of a difference then 2006. I was never a huge fan of the Sega sports football series, but at least with the competition it forced the guys at EA Sports to make more then minimal changes each year.

Also Madden for the 360 is filled with bugs.

1. The fatigue bar does NOT work. Now we have no way of telling when to sub out our players. I feel especially bad for those who dont have an internet connection who are stuck with a broken game.

2. The game sometimes will pan around the stadium endlessly causing you to have to quit the game. After each play the camera will pan the stadium until a delay of game penalty is called.

This is crap that should have never gotten past the testing phase.

Lets not even begin to talk about the DB AI.

Chris, I have played 10-15 games so far, and I haven't had any problems with the game "panning" around the stadium. My DB's AI seems to be pretty much on point. Yes I have had some passes caught on them, but it seems to be few and far between when I call the right Defensive scheme.

You will, eventually. Its a "known issue" and Ive read about it on multiple forums. It happened to my cousin and I last night.

I dont have an issue with it because I know how to control my DB's. Those people (my brother/cousin) who like to let the AI control their secondary get torched like crazy.

We'll play a game online tonight if you're free.

I would love too. Unfortunately, I am not hooked up Live yet. I hope to do so within the week. I also try not to let the computer control my players. I prefer to control my own. I would like to take a raincheck until later in the week if thats okay

Thats a link to my home away from home. Its a great gaming site. The link is to the madden impressions thread. Its a great mix of people there for such a huge site. Check out that thread for more info on what Ive mentioned here.

You definatetly have to get on Live. Its a totally different experience with it. IMO you havent touched the surface of what the 360 is about without Live. Free demos, game patches, movies etc.

Also, be sure to check out the arcade games.

So, impressions from day 2.

My cousin got madden at midnight like I used to do. He's 28 by the way. He and my brother Jamar stayed up for about 18 hours "practicing". They sent me a text talking trash while I was at work. Neither of them can touch me in madden.

So I get to their apartment and my brother who has never beaten me, beats me by 14 points. Then I get beat by my cousin also. I never heard the end of it, I talk a pretty bad tongue lashing from them both. To them, it was the dawn of a new era.....that was day 1.

Day 2. I arrived at the apartment at 3:30pm. I beat the 2 of them 6 times in a row. Not only did I beat them I "skunked" them both. A "skunk" is having a difference of 21 points on the score board. After the 6th game of the alternating they refused to play until they had more practice time.

I will update you all with my day 3 skunking later on.

Jake, you are 100% right, the soundtrack is terrible. But luckily I have XBOX (the normal one) so I just bust out my custom soundtracks which isn't too bad.

But here is what I think:

For the XBOX version, the 07 version is much better than the 06 version. There are new animations, some new features, and a more in depth Franchise mode.

However, the game is much more "Arcade" status and offense is way easier. I win like 49-21 everytime on All Madden which gets pretty boring.

Overall, 8.5 out of 10

They should just get rid of the music all together and just stick with actual NFL music. You know stuff you hear in the stadiums.
